The conference office didn't do us any favors this year by putting our four toughest games all in a row.
Florida at home
Georgia on road
TAMU on road
Bama at home

That being said, how many do we win?
I say 2. Florida and Tamu
We go 10&2
UGA wins the East.
We go to Sugar Bowl

I don't see UGA going 10-2 with a freshman QB

Our fans are scared of UGA for some unknown reason. We gave them all they could handle the past three years, just like Florida. We are a better team this year than we were at any point over the last 3 years. We spotted UGA 21 points last year and beat them. We gave them a fumble in our end zone two years ago.

We should at least win three of the 4. I think Florida will be a tougher game than GA. GA has a new coach, new QB. They will struggle. A&M is on a downward spiral.

Who has more starters returning, a productive Senior QB, two future NFL RB's, an experienced O-line with a future NFL TE, a stout defense with 2-3 first round draft picks that is two deep at every position with Bob Shoop at DC, and special teams that shine?

It's time.

How great can the Vols be this year?

That's the question. It's gotta happen on the field, but this team is stacked and will be better than last year. Since we have improved, any team on our schedule that don't improve, will be in for a beating. Any team on our schedule takes a step back, it could get ugly.

If our Vols were somehow able to run the table in the regular season but lose the SEC Championship, would we still get invite to the playoff? What do you guys think?

I love how everyone on this thread automatically counts the Alabama game as a loss... We almost beat them last year AT Bryant-Denny.... why the h*** would we not be able to beat them this year at home??? Some of y’all need to just get out of this cry baby mindset and be positive..

Depends on so many things. Who beat us and what is their record? What are the records of other conference champions? And more. But probably not. Losing that late in the season is usually not good for postseason hopes.

As far as the topic goes, I am sticking with my 10-2 prediction. I'm hoping for 11-1 though.

1-3 unfortunately - the good news though is that we should win everything before and after that stretch

1-3 or worse, and the season is in disarray, with Butch catching a LOT of crap from our fans and the national media. 1-3 or worse would be a disaster.

As long as we beat Florida and Georgia, I'd be fine with 2-2.

If we go 3-1, we're in the playoff hunt big time.

4-0 and Butch is the MAN and Hurd or Dobbs are Heisman contenders.

If we beat Florida, Butch will have to keep the team focused and make sure we aren't partying all week.

Smart and UGA will have that game circled because we'll be a top-10 team marching into Athens. Could be a huge opportunity for his first big win.

Same thing with A&M, except instead of a brand new coach in search of a much needed win, it would be a coach on the hot seat in search of a much needed win.

Capping off all of those pivotal wins would be the game against Bama. At least we have it at home.

You can't be serious? The win against Florida would propel us into at least another 2 wins just in pure momentum let alone the confidence they would have. I'm expecting 3 wins with the possibility of 4. It's going to be extremely hard to sweep that gauntlet but I'm hoping our guys have the mental toughness to break through.

I see us going 3-1 and the 1 is not what most probably think. I think we beat Bama, but A&M is a trap game if there ever was one.

If we lose 3 games this year I'll be very disappointed. The season after this season will be a down year. If Butch can't win 10 or more this year with this team I'll personally be on the fence about him.
