ask me again in 2020

Me too. At this point, nobody knows. It is all speculation.

I will say that it doesn't help to see our fans crapping all over the players we just signed. How do you think that looks to kids in the '18 class. "Yes, I am pumped to go to Tennessee so the fans can complain about how disappointed they are to have me and how bad I suck..."

Were there highly rated guys I hoped we would get? Yes.

I really hoped we would get Akers and Ray. Longshots, but what the heck? And I hated losing Hunter Johnson and Higgins. So I got caught into a little star gazing, but I felt all of these were legitimate impact players.

But I can roll with who we got. For all I know, those guys might be prima donnas, and the fact they chose to take any baggage they would have brought here elsewhere might have been great luck. Guess we will know soon enough.

You are talking about maybe 5% of the fans who do 95% of the talking. If those players let that kind of nonsense effect them like that, do we need them? Those are the commits you hope someone sways away so you can hang onto those with guts, character, and a work ethic.

Tennessee can't finish 4-4 in the SEC, lose to Vanderbilt and expect to have a strong recruiting class. That will not work no matter how strong the recruiters are.

Recruiting was on a very high plane until losses started happening but the South Carolina loss made things really go down hill fast with recruiting. Vandy only closed the door.

You just have to do better than 4-4 and some games you just cannot lose.

I selected the mixed emotions because I felt it would fall off as November came to an end but hoped maybe they could pull one or two studs. But same as the last selection, this class cannot compete at championship level. Have to have vast improvement in classes to compete for an SEC.

JMO

VERY WELL SAID....and representative....

The aTm game had all the commentators singing our praises because we beat ourselves....with turnovers...the Bama beat-down could've been explained away as just Bama being Bama....and the significance of all of the injuries...

MO was still there right up UNTIL the SC debacle after having 2 weeks to rest, recuperate, prepare for a very strong finish...

That loss cannot be explained away.....and just absolutely killed any clear vision broadcast out there for UT being ready and over the hump.....

So, when the stats don't agree with your feelings, it's 'spinning'? Makes sense.

well....I happen to think they do support my position.

Did teams get yards...yes.

Did our guys hold them under their average season production...yes.

So, yes...it has nothing to do w/ my feelings and really does depend on how you (retorically) want to spin it....guess that could mean me, as well.

I happen to think Strip is an above average DL coach. He may be ready to hang it up, but the production of his players on DL the last 2, maybe 3 years wasn't all that bad....the loss of virtually every DT on the team half way through 2016, notwithstanding.
