I think the American Conference West division is better than the SEC east. So don't give me this BS hype about how daunting the SEC is. The only think daunting about our schedule is that we play Alabama every year.

Washington State plays in a more difficult division and it's not close

JH has you just where he wants ya. Willing to accept anybody. He pays attention to what's going on. May as well give him and his staff a million dollar raise. I'm sure WSU doesn't want to part with him.

Mullen, Smart, Saban are much better than Leach. All will recruit at a much higher level too. Leach will compete with Muschamp for 3rd in the East.

Mike Leach has earned this opportunity. And he's never had to kiss a$$ to get to where he is. He's earned it with his coaching. And only getting paid 2.85mil a yr at WashSt, when we are out offering Mike Gundy a 6yr/42mil offer, ha. Leach shoulda been our first interview after the Top 5 of Gruden, Peterson, Patterson, Jimbo, and Franklin. I'd take Mike Leach over Gundy, Schiano, Brohm, Doeren, Morris, Cutcliffe, and Sumlin. Why those 7 got calls before Mike Leach is completely irrational by our AD. Mike Leach makes UT a contender in the SEC East off the bat. This will be good times again. Sincerely hope this goes thru and gets signed off on in the morning as reported. One of the better hires we could have made.

How many NCs do Mullen and Smart have again? What’s their top win season? Leach was 11-2 at Texas Tech with a decently hard schedule, and that’s as impressive to me as anything Mullen or Smart have done.

If this turns out to be true I’d be ok with it. I think it’s a good hire.

I was talking with my uncle last week when Leachs name was getting thrown around. I said I kinda like the guy.

He’s a weird guy quirky guy but funny guy. Very entertaining.

But he’s a pretty good football coach and a winner. What he’s done at WSU with the lack of talent and resources there is pretty impressive. Considering the pac12 is solid conference and WSU program is near the bottom of that conference. He’s won pretty big there really. Having them ranked top 25 I believed as high as top 10-15.

It kinda excites me to think what he could do here with our resources. His offense is explosive hope he can have balanced run game as well. Will need a good DC. Hope he hires a good staff cause one of my concerns is his ability to recruit.

All in all this is a really good hire if UT just screw this one up.

Plus I think the fans will love him. I actually think by the power and passion we’ve shown this week actually attracted him to the job more, instead of scaring off like other coaches supposedly.

Very concerned about his recruiting ability. Yes Tennessee sells itself but his system isn’t SEC recruit friendly.
