Unless he shows much more than he did in 2024, he would be an UDFA.

Nico was t even really in the top half of SEC QBs-much less the country

We won in spite of Nico, not because of him-leaning on a great RB and a very decent defense.

I mean he was a first year starter-but so were a few other SEC QBs who lapped Nico by the end of the season.

Didn't Nicos little bro just sign at Arky? Pops needs to go bother them some and leave us alone
You can believe that but Milton got drafted and I think Nico has more potential and plenty of athleticism.

We shall see.

Bet they are a package wherever he goes.

Honestly he isn't worth what he is getting right now send him . He was a ok QB had trouble hitting wide open WRs . He did get better by the end of the year but Vols did not win any games because he was QB .

It's nothing but a business now, plain and simple, and this is free agency.

Can Heupel find someone else, or already have someone on hand, that he thinks can do the job?

If the answer is yes, then let him walk. Thank you for your services and good luck at USC or UCLA or Slippery Rock or wherever. If not, you have to hold your nose and pay him.

Milton got drafted because he is a physical freak and EVERY coach thinks he is going to be the one who can harness all of it. What he did on the field at UT was secondary.

Nico has the height but does not have the same gifts in terms of body development.

Let's say you are the decision maker. Would you renegotiate with Nico right now, or move on and let someone else pony up more money?

I understand that he's played one full season as a redshirt freshman. Has he done enough in your mind to earn more at this time? How do you feel about the timing of this during spring camp?

You obviously have no clue as to what a poll is.

Manning, Allar, Klubnik, and Nico come to mind for 2026. It's not a loaded draft class at QB.

Manning will be the first QB taken, of course, but the other guys are all a bunch in my mind. Nico, IMO, is no better/no worse than Klubnik and Allar.

This season and the Combine/Pro Day can sort them out but there's just not a lot of "known" QBs coming out in 2026.

I'm not so sure Arch is even planning on coming out after this year unless he plays lights out

Some guy who is second or third on some teams depth chart right now will end up being the breakout star of 2025. Always the way it ends up working out

I've heard UCLA or USC as possible destinations for him if he leaves. West Coast would make sense, but in any case, do you think another school would pay him the $4 million/year he's reportedly asking for? There is undeniably talent there, but has he demonstrated enough to this point that would command that kind of money walking in the door somewhere else?

Here is the deal for him. Coming out of high school he was a 5 star phenomenon who was loaded with potential that could earn $2mil/year in NIL. Schools will now evaluate him on his performance at the college level in assessing his NIL value, which is no where near that level.

Rodman was a circus. That was why I referenced him.

There's no guarantee Nico will be a first round pick but right now he's ahead of most SEC QBs on what matters which is his NFL future projection.

The notion here is that college is what's important but what's really important is the NFL and particularly the second contract. What Nico has to do between here and 2026 is about what he's done and show them potential at the Combine or Pro Day.

In that sense, he's not risking that much with this move which is definitely a d*ck move but not a particularly risky move for him as it relates to the NFL and his future.
Nobody wants that kind of cancer in their locker room!! He is your typical “hold out” and a constant distraction to any team…and I’m talking NFL, if he even has a chance at this point which I’m no GM but he would not be any QB I’d build a franchise around. Send his ass back to volleyball

Terrible look, no doubt. I'm wondering if someone inside the NCAA ginned this up with Nico's people in the shadows to get back at us for spanking their asses in court. Guessing they went 3d-4th party to keep their name from Nico's people...
