No.

I don't want Currie and Haslam hiring anyone.

Likely never get this close to actually changing things, where they need changing, again.

I seem to be the only person on this site to keep bringing up John Chavis but older Vols do remember the old 3rd and Chavis days right? Since Chavis already has a working relationship with Sumlin it seems like a no brainer he would come home to Knoxville as DC with Sumlin as HC.

I would be fine with either Miles and Chavis or Sumlin and Chavis, I just have a huge fear we will pass on Tee and in a couple of years he will go somewhere and become a star HC.

Cause Texas A&M thinks they are something they are not.

They think they should be competing for SEC titles every year when in reality they are the 4th best program in the SEC West after Alabama, Auburn, and LSU.

Kevin Sumlin performed right about where his team's talent level said he should perform. He should never have been fired. The fans over there are just delusional.

I think Sumlin can be a success here.

I think Sumlin is a fine coach, but he did have tremendous talent at A&M.

I'm not in favor of the hire. Sumlin had so much momentum early on with Johnny Football, Texas being down, his prior success at Houston. It translated into nothing. He recruited well but they had a lot of attrition, especially at quarterback.

I just don't see him taking us to the level we expect of UT football.

Chavis couldn’t defend an 8th grade girls soccer team at this point in his career. Would love to see Steele be willing to take a lateral to come home. No way we lateral Tee as OC unless we maybe give him AHC title and I think it’s a long shot then.

I would absolutely get behind Sumlin. He is a great recruiter and did well in the much harder SEC West. He's been on my "why haven't you call" list for a bit.

I have wondered why he was not way up the list too. A good coach that has great potential.

Sumlin would be a HR hire IMO. Knows what it takes to win in SEC and a hell of a recruiter.
Only 53, several years to coach. Hopefully when he is ready to leave, one of these young VFL coaches will have experience and step right in. Yes, probably Tee.

If Sumlin does take it, bring back the Lane Train, woo woo!

Look man! Sumlin had to compete again Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma, TCU and all the other teams down there. His teams played tough defense and exciting offense. This is one of the best hires we could make. Sumlin will win here in year one. Recruiting will be at a high level. What are we waiting on???????????????? Some other team will hire this man soon and we will still be talking about Jim Bob Cooter for goodness sake. C'mon does anybody on this board have anyone's ear that matter. Do it, do it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!!!!

The whole fan base should be able to drink for free after this and the haslam family should have to pick up the tab and John Currie should permanent designated driver and cleaner upper of vomit and piss

Bahahahahahaha:)

Miles>Sumlin

Yes, but let's face it, both of these would be much better than most of the names being bantered around. Here's a thought...interview Miles, Sumlin and Tee. See who has best plan and pay whatever it takes to put this drama behind us.

Going after Summlin now. Im ok with that..... BUT SEEING AS HOW WE ARE GETTING FAT PAYDAYS FOR ALL THESE REJECTORS THEY SHOULD ALL CONTRIBUTE TO A BAR TAB AT CALHOUNS FOR VOL FAN.Just saying! Would be the classy thing to do to say THANK YOU!

Wait till these a$$hats name Beilema as the next head coach just because noone saw it coming.

Sumlin will be fine as long as he doesn't bring Chavis along with him. The guy is a bona fide coach killer at this point.
