I refuse to vote against Crompton. I am as unhappy with his play as anyone. I am sure Crompton is more upset about himself than we ever could be. Give him a few more games and then start bashing Kiffin if he is still playing. Not Crompton. Kiffin took all the responsibility for what happened.

He's the worst starter I can remember in a couple decades. I remember thinking Helton wasn't a good SEC QB but after seeing Crompton for a while now I think Helton should have won the heisman. I loved Helton. He was tough and put his pro baseball career on the line for the love of UT football. Great guy. Crompton has done nothing to make me like him.

if manning deserved to have his number retired, so does crompton. you couldn't really describe either one without using superlatives.

as far as q.b.s go, this situation reminds me of 71, when i was in law school. the vols had graduated a fairly good one (bobby scott--not manning, but good) the year before and battle had several on the roster. the first game was against u.c.-santa barbara (they dropped football at the end of the season) and it was a struggle. the opposing coach said it was one of the best defenses he had ever seen, but that the vols had an offensive problem. boy!, did they ever. battle went through the whole roster and every one was a bust. he finally got down to a guy named maxwell. i had some classes with him in undergrad and didn't even know he played. the defense saved the season (11-1), but the whole year was a nightmare for the vol q.b.s. everyone was talking about this black kid from alabama on the freshman team. they had a home game with notre dame and as i recall the stadium was three fourths full, just to see him. his name was condredge holloway.

I support the Vols, I wish the QB play was better. But I am not going to lower myself to bashing a kid who has given his all for Tennessee. I hope Crompton is coached up this week and we comptete with Florida.

I used to think the Clausen brothers sucked until I saw Crompton. Wow, who knew it could get worse.

The worst that has received any meaningful playing time, probably. Calling him the worst UT quarterback of all time in general is a stretch, though.

I only go back to Andy Kelly but, Crompton is the worst ive ever seen. im not trying to pile it on him and I hope he redeems himself but at this point it is what it is.

Not quite. I just understand that the best QB is on the field. If he wasn't our best QB, he wouldn't be on the field.
Crompton's worst loss was to UCLA.

...Stephens lost to Wyoming.

Crompton is the 12th man for every team we play against. I honestly think the Coach is leaving him there as a part of the master plan to get top rated QB's interested in us and to sign with us.

Henton was bad but I have one for you . He won the job out of fall camp but I don't think he lasted past the first two drives . JOEY MATTHEWS

There's no conspiracy. It's called playing the best QB and sticking with him, because that's what real coaches do. Changing QBs gets you 2005 and 2008.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to be a college football QB? He is trying as hard as he can. He is not a great qb..no question, but why do this to someone who is giving 100%.

the recency of this list says a lot about why fulmer is no longer the coach...am I off on this list?
