Get a grip.

It was his 2nd game in a new system. They guy hasnt had any stability as far as coaching staff, schemes, and or game plans throughout his entire career. Crompton may not play to some of yall's standards, but Im willing to bet he sucks far less than some of you experts.

The question wasn't "Is Crompton worst than average poster on VN?" The question was is he the worst ever QB. He's easily the worst QB that's ever started at UT in the last 20 years. EASILY. It doesn't matter if he's had to learn a bunch of systems. It's not about systems, it's about the intangibles and the instincts and the mental capacity to not make bad decisions. Am I saying that I should go out there and start for UT? No. But as a division 1 athlete who has nothing to concentrate on but football (if you say class, you're a joke), he played awful.

Hey Volinooga- you haven't the priviledge to question my loyalty to the Vols, or the right! I still have my power T flag hanging in the front yard.
Is Crompton the worst QB we've had since the single wing? Yes- he is a 5th year senior. Yes- he has had poor coaching in the past. Yes- his Oline is ineffective. But to miss wide open throws (but not to the defense). If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, its a duck!

I suppose I've said my peice on the issue. If you asshats want to continue to berate your Qb, have at it. It's your right. Just dont attempt to pass yourself off as anything more than a bunch of monday morning qb's playing the crying game because you lost one you shoulda won. Inshort, the wussy baby, the end is near, doomsday in Knoxville threads SUCK and you fairweather, newbie posters are the main reason why there is an ignore feature. Good day.

and by the way, youre damn right Wolfe. Ilk such as yourself wouldnt belong hanging around the water cooler, much less the football field.

I voted no. Stephens is worse. He's just as messed up in the head, and he's not as talented either.

141 fans consider Crompton the worst UT QB ever?

This poll shows the state of our fan base in relation to the state of our football team.
Who knew that after a loss the backup QB would be the most popular player on the team?!?

WOW, who the F are you, and what place or right do you think you have to come on here and spew out what you did. First off, asshats? :post-4-1090547912: Thats just funny. I guess it was supposed to be an insult though, so if it makes you feel better...I feel bad. Secondly, I'm sure Crompton is just a swell, stand up guy, and no one is trying to "berate" him as a human being. Just stating the fact that he is a shi++y quarterback. It's nothing personal. And if you really think that we are baseing this off of 1 game "we should have won" then you my friend obviously had your head up your :shaking2: during the entire season last year. Like I said, I tried to share the blame of his terrible play with his coaches, but he proved this last week that he can't be a playmaker, even against a very young unexperienced defensive backfield that he should have been able to pick apart.
And finally, what does being a "newbie poster" have to do with anything? I have only posted a dozen or so times on this website, but have posted several times on a different one. I'm not saying you were talking about me, just wanted to know the relevance.
So, if writing a bunch of crap on our page makes you feel better than be my guest. I rather enjoy reading it, it makes me laugh. But I really don't know why you can't understand our position. We arn't used to sucky quarterbacks, and it's pissing alot of people off that we are getting beat by ours, but if you are an Aggies fan, I'm sure I don't need to tell you what that feels like. :bs:

I dont think there has ever been a QB at UT that has matched so much physical talent with so little mental talent. He has every physical tool necessary to be a good QB, but he just absolutely does not translate that to on-field production. He is what those in the coaching industry call a 'coach killer' because players like him are so frustrating for a coach. Under the lights, fans in the stands, defense going full speed, quick decisions......those elements squash all his physical talent into the ground.

The only thing about Suggs, Leak and you could also throw in Joey Matthews IMO was that they were benched for there poor play...Crompton is like a cat with as many lives as he has been given.

Right. We have not had a QB situation this bad since last year. Before that, it was pretty much always better, including the years we started Ainge and Clausen as true freshmen.

The year we started Ainge and Schaeffer as freshmen wasn't as bad as the year we started Ainge as a sophomore and R.Clausen as a senior...

I have a hard time bestowing such a dubious distinction on Crompton considering the current shape of the OL and the youth at WR. However, he is really bad and that just makes him look that much worse.

You are obviously not UT's #1 fan. You, like so many others on here, are merely fair weathered fans who can't wait to blast a 21 year old kid. Get a grip. A true fan supports the Vols even in (actually, especially during) the tough times.

Any half wit can sit behind an anonymous name and take petty little potshots. Is Crompton struggling--sure. Is he the greatest we've ever had--absolutely not. But number one fans don't treat players like this.

This is coming from some DA Fulmerite who complained about firing him in the first place. Tell your boy thanks for the full cupboard...

Maybe we'll have a come-from-three-touchdowns-behind victory this year over a superior SEC opponent. At least that would be something entertaining to see.

I can't say he is the worst UT QB ever.

I honestly believe JC is the absolute worst UT QB who has ever received this many starts. It's not like he hasn't been given a fair shot. No other QB in UT history has played this poorly, in this many starts.

I don't think he's the worst EVER....here's a better question; IS THIS THE WORST GROUP OF QB'S EVER? If Crompton is your best bet...that does not bode well for the rest of the group

This is how far we've fallen....I actually compared us to Vandy to a friend of mine Saturday night (a VU fan for nearly 30 years). I text'd him and told him "Now I know how you guys felt when you had Damien Allen."

..then freaking Plaster comes on 104.5 this afternoon and says the very same thing. Something like "..when Willie and I were at Vandy doing the play by play, there was a eerily similar situation with Damien Allen.."

God....HELP US.

Guys I would personally like 2 apologize for having a Serena moment :) I have apologized to #1 fan also. Yes JC was bad but so was the O Line and why was G Jones n the game @ the end if he is not 100% sure on routes. Oh well, 1 more thing I am writing this from my Blackberry that is why it looks like a teenager texting sometimes. Have a good day and Go VOLS!
