i think the UT-Memphis, if both teams win up to that point, will have so much hype surrounding it and have higher ratings than Wednesday's classic matchup

I'm holding out for that titanic West Coast Conference showdown between Gonzaga and St. Mary's tonight. :good!:

I know UNC-DUKE will have great ratings, but you have to think that with UT/UM possibly being the two most exciting teams to watch that they will draw a lot of attention around the nation as well

We are a good match-up, but with all their tradition and high rankings why would you expect the general populace to watch us over them?

I think the UT game because it's something different. We have seen Duke/UNC in the top 5 and battle every year.

This battle for the state of TN will excite more people. (i hope)

I think it will be Duke & UNC. I mean really, that might not even be close. 1 reason everyone here in Memphis will be at the game. :p

North Carolina and Duke both have larger individual national followings than Memphis and UT have collectively. Couple that with the hype ESPN is going to give Dick Vitale's return and you have a ratings blowout.

Many consider UNC-Duke as the 'start of the basketball season.' They're both top 5 this year. Major media!

Exactly. It won't even be close.

I accidentally voted for the wrong one, subtract one from UT-Memphis and add it to UNC-Duke. It won't even be close.

Hard to handicap Duke-UNC if Lawson is out. My gut instinct is that Carolina still wins at home. It's also hard for me to see anyone not named Kansas or UCLA beating Memphis in the FeF.

I would have to think anyone that watches college bb would be kind of tired of the dukies & heels . I could care less who wins . There are alot of people who realize that TN and MEM both run and gun which makes for more exciting bb . Then again there may be people who just watch because it's the acc . Very good question hat !
runing :run: and guning :machgun: are alot more fun to watch though

UNC scores just as much as UT and Memphis, and Duke isn't too far behind.

Correction: UNC scores more than both UT and Memphis, and Duke scores just 2 points less than the Tigers.

As far as ratings go, UNC/Duke destroys any other regular season matchups. It's been this way for over 25 years. The media loves the rivalry and the teams and coaches are generally pretty good.

Who would get higher ratings? Missouri and Kansas in CFB or Michigan and tOSU?

:hi: I don't want anyone to think that I would ever be wrongfully voted to the top of this wonderful list , but there will be a virtual beer for all who select me as delusional homer of the year . I do realize that it's hard to be a delusional homer when my team hasn't lost a game but I feel honored to be nominated THANK YOU REAL VOL
