It really doesn't matter what anyone thinks of the hire, it will be how he actually does. I will be interested to see what kind of staff he puts together. That could be just as if not more important. GBO!

Would Volnation be considered the pulse of how all Vols fans feel or are posters on Volnation freaks of nature out of line with normal, mainstream Vols fans?

Too early to tell if I'm unhappy but I'm certainly not elated with the FB coaching hire.

Yup... five days in... I like him. Probably got the best fit and coach he could get right now. Probably Butch 2.0, we’ll see if the spread can handle elite SEC defense. But it’s not like the man didn’t ask anyone else, no one said yes. Most said h-no! Even with a boatload of cash. Places come open ever year, why go to a place that just canned the last 3 coaches in a row, after 4 or less years. We were walking around with a open checkbook and no one wanted it. So where we are at, This makes sense. It took a lot of courage for CH to take this job. Thanks Danny for bringing in your old friend, Go Big Orange! Beat Bama!

What a con-job... Danny White comes in preaching about integrity and preys on us while we’re down... “there’s a reason” he took THIS job fellas... pretends to work for 1 week and turns in his paper from last semester. Lol we’ve been had. Integrity lol. He totally failed to follow through on his obligation to his duties... can we fire with cause.

I agree with you 100%... If Hups was the HFC White was going to hire anyway (and that appears to be the case)... why pay the search company their huge fee? UFC is getting $8 million in buyout fees for both White and Hups!!! SOMEONE in the UT decision making area is absolutely NUTS!!! My opinion, and each of you is entitled to yours. Anyway, Go VOLS...

Seems to be a Currie 2.0 (Mullen or Schiano).....White (Franklin or Heupel).

To be honest, we really don't know how bad of a sh!t storm we are in but Heupel evidently has nards and backbone to handle it.....I hope he suceeds and is successful here!

Absolutely happy! ESPN reported that he went after some big time existing P5 head coaches. He opened up the bank and went after some home run names. It's not his fault that none of those names wanted a depleted roster with sanctions on the horizon and a lunatic fan base that'll be calling for his head before he steps on campus. I wanted a big name or Freeze or Kiffin and at least Freeze would have likely taken it, but again not White's fault that he couldn't pull those triggers with the NCAA about to be sniffing around either.

Dude was an idiot! He turned a simple coaching search into a three ring circus by pretending like he could negotiate a deal with the big boy coaches of college football. Should have been smart enough not to waste time trying to lure sitting coaches like Franklin, Fleck and Campell away. During this search, he made the Vols and embarrassment before the eyes of media and public. Of course like always, the blame will be placed on the fans, for the administration 's failure to conduct an intelligent search.

You probably won't have to worry about firing him. He'll leave for any school dumb enough to hire him after this misfire. Anyway, if I am still around, will be seeing you all again in a couple of years.
