Plowman and Boyd get very high marks for hiring an experienced athletic director.

Boyd owns a few minor league baseball teams including the Smokies and this kind of expertise is very helpful when putting a great staff together.

I'm a Razorback fan first but as I stated earlier in thread, you guys hit it out of the park with this hire. He has proven he has a keen eye for coaching talent.
(I didn't vote, by the way)
I feel like the Razorbacks are close to getting over the hump. You guys have a good coach.

Depends on who the next head football coach is.

That and handling the fundraising and economics is probably 80 percent of the job.

It was mentioned he "was made an offer he couldn't refuse".

He was making $1.2 million. If true, somebody opened the checkbook. Hopefully the coaching hire will follow suit.

Seems like a very solid hire. Because of Battered Vol Syndrome, I feel like there must be a “catch“ somewhere. Did they really do this? This quickly and seemingly smart? Or is Ronald McDonald going to jump out and say, “ha, jokes on you Volnation!”

If you voted no explain why.

I voted no. Here's the why- I would have liked to see someone with a UT background at least get an interview for example Mark Ingram at UAB. Per Dan Harralson at Vols Wire, the search was focused on sitting Power 5 administrators which is why Ingram, David Blackburn and others weren't contacted. Well and good but if being in the Power 5 was a criteria, you hired a guy who has run Group of 5 programs. He looks like he's made some good hires and some the jury may still be out on (Heupel looks like he's trending in the wrong direction, Dawkins, meh). I sincerely hope he's not getting over credited for being a member of a powerful family in intercollegiate athletics. It really bugs me that at UT, and not just in the athletic department, one of the biggest strikes you can have against you is a degree from UT. I sincerely wish AD White every success but I would have liked to see candidates from within the family at least given consideration.
