Doug Dickey. He cleaned up the mess left by the end of the Wyatt era, and won 2 SEC championships in a six year run. If we had gotten the right coach to replace Dickey, with the talent he left, then the 70s might have been completely different.
I liked CLK, but in a decade or so, he will be as revered in UT football history as is Jim McDonald (for his role as HFC).
He will prove how much talent he has for going against the rules. Unfortunately he will win ball games, but it may not matter after the NCAA gets through with them. As long as he is a coach there, the NCAA microscope will be at USC, maybe even more so then before. Everyone wants to see him fail, wouldn't doubt one bit if that included the NCAA.
He very likely would have signed a top 3 class this year had he stayed at UT.
Better than Fulmer? We went 7-6 in one season. Kinda hard to argue he would have been better than a guy with a career record of 152-52 and a NC. As much as I'm pissed he left I think he could have been a great coach here but after one season he can't even be thought of in a "Greatest Ever" poll.
