Fans, students, and boosters all need to wake up and smell the coffee. What Baylor is going through now? That was us not too long ago. You can try to act like it never happened, but Bev Davenport can't.....and won't. She has made that clear. Let's face it, the priorities you or I might have for Tennessee may rarely match those of the new boss lady.

How do you figure she blew the hire? I hate this search process was handle the way it was. It took way too long, and created a period of awkward uncertainty. But if you were hoping for Fulmer to be hired, then you should have pushed for our chancellor to be Ken Starr. That is blowing it right there.

I might not have been behind her being hired, but I feel Davenport stuck to her standards and faced down fans, media, and some powerful boosters pushing at her while making this decision. Now, as long as she keeps her fingers outta her nose, we may find putting a woman in charge was a damn good idea. Guess we will see.

These are very odd poll answer options. Happy--no. Sad--no. Hungry--a little. Constantly bitter yada yada yada--no.

Disappointed--would be my answer.

The labels for this poll sucked. I am not elated or mad , I hope this was a great hire. I am looking for the presser and some questions answered then I may be happy or sad. GBO!

Totally agree. Some only are concerned with wins / losses on the field and getting whomever they don't like fired.

There are much more important concerns that she needed to make sure were covered.

I'm a little disappointed. Not necessarily with the hire itself as much as not hiring Blackburn. I guess I thought if Blackburn was hired and he brought Phil on board in some capacity, that would mean Peyton had something to do with it and, for me, all would be good.

I don't hate the hire, I'm not knowledgeable enough on all of this to know any better. All I can do is hope, and I've been doing it long enough with Tennessee football, I feel I'm an expert on that.

Good to see someone else gets that. I like winning as much as the next guy. But if we aren't backing those who are working to fix issues? We are worthless.

Real happy great hire, better resume and vol just like Blackburn without the slack jawed split talking...don't know how people are *****ing.

From what I'm hearing Fulmer and Manning did NOT have Currie on their short list. Kansas State insiders say Currie is a micromanager who is obsessed with imagery and he does not get along with coaches.
