I think TN should consider moving the student section away from opposing fan base. Mixing the two is a recipe for disaster. Why ask for trouble? Back to the question at hand, NO, never acceptable to risk the well being of others. I saw a child get hit with a can full of beer. Not only did it hurt, he was covered in beer. Bad, very bad!!!!!!

What brand of beer was it?

For me it’s stupid and shouldn’t have happened, but it wasn’t near as bad (or unique to TN) as all the histrionics from Thamel and his ilk will make it seems
It doesn't matter if it is unique to Tennessee. It should not be allowed ANYWHERE, but especially not here. We claim to be sophisticated, but this makes us look STOOOPID.

That crap is all espn and the other networks are taking about from our game instead of how we took ole miss down to the wire with an undermanned team in a year some people expected us to win 3-4 games tops. Kiffin is eating it up loving the attention, and all UT gets is bad PR taking away from the effort our guys put in. Those SEC network guys calling the game and on the after show turned my stomach with their lecturing about it. I hope they can track down the idiots throwing stuff and ban them from
Coming back. Nothing is worth risking someone getting hurt over someone’s tantrum over a ballgame.
Who cares? They also ignore what goes on in SEC recruiting and poor officiating. Much like the national news.

There was a time when this was the worst thing we ever saw in Knoxville. Not anymore.

I love Tennessee and our fan base, but I don’t think many claim we’re a sophisticated bunch😂
I agree it should not be allowed. Truthfully I think the alcohol sales shouldn’t be happening after last night but I’m sure I’m in the strong minority on that one

Sophisticated? Maybe educated, but I am 110% purebred Hillbilly and proud of it. Time to stick up for our ethnic group just like everyone else.

was going to post a poll about what Sankey needs to do to clean these games up. THAT is unacceptable. Worst Commish ever! A joke!

It was stupid. Historically an angry mob of Vol fans would chase the refs out of town after the game.

I haven't been to a game since they started selling beer. They don't serve the beer in plastic cups?

I put acceptable. Officials should have kept control of the game, made better calls. Unreal scoop and score called back, 4th down play, mixed with kiffin and fake injuries ( would like to see the # of offensive plays for ole miss vs our defensive injuries), and the taunting ole miss players were doing hasn't been mentioned . UT has been the cuck of the sec for a long time now. Wish we could grow a pair and stop self policing ourselves.

I agree suspend alcohol sales for the rest of the year.
But it will not happen and we all know why $$$$$$$$$$

Let me get it out of the way: nobody should be throwing bottles, balls, or other objects on the field.

But the pearl clutching over some rowdy college students at a tightly contested football game is a little over the top. Make an example of who you can and move along. The amount of outrage and coverage this is getting is nuts.

Meh. This is our country now. Bunch of entitled children who throw tantrums when things don’t go their way. Whats worse, they were supposedly Vol fans and were throwing garbage on our own field. How does that make any sense? I wonder if the same people get mad at their neighbors and respond by s***ing on their own lawn.

I get being mad, but all we did was trash our own house while Kiffin comes out looking like the good guy. I have never bought into the toxic fan base narrative, but we don’t make things easy on ourselves.

First time in my 65 years of VOL fandom that I'm been ashamed to be a TN fan. Totally unacceptable to throw things. Especially at the opposing team (who had nothing to do with the ref call).
This isn’t the first time this has happened though. Why is this time any different than the others?

The posts like this are the stupidest, because people have thrown crap on sports fields since sports became a thing.
