This was embarassing for everyone, but YOU CAN NOT EXPECT TO HANG WITH BAMA WITHOUT 13 STARTERS/MAJOR CONTRIBUTORS.

I get the injuries but offensively this staff didn't do these guys any favors today. Its like they conceded the game before it started.

Another thing on injuries, this is year 4 there should be quality depth. I know I know stars mean nothing, but isn't it ironic the top teams consistently have top 5 classes? Its not a coincidence.

Pretty simple question. He is 5-2. 2 losses in conference. Seems to have been living on a prayer and miracles with wins. Today, absolutely ass stomped.

Is he in trouble if he loses another game this season?

Yes or no. That simple

No

Not sure why these polls get started because Butch isn't going anywhere unless he decides to take another job...UT isn't firing him and if they did it would be the worse move they ever made...Was hard enough to get him here because every other decent coach turned us down and most of them would again...UT doesn't pay the big money for coaches like other schools so we would end up with another mid major coach or even worse another Dooley..We are winning again...Enjoy it

Pretty much sums it up.

No.. If they drop another game down the stretch i think he may need to look at some assistant changes. Oline has bee crap since day one and i don't think that it is we keep missing on recruits. Some of the guys we have were being recruited by everyone.

I haven't been a fan of this offensive scheme since day one.. Although i think with a freak QB like a Lamar Jackson it would look a lot different. Dobbs has been hot and cold and misses the read on the read option way too often.. What we run is a pretend read option most of the time. If Hurd is in the game he gets the handoff 90% of the time. That's not what a read option is if you only use one option.. The play calling sometimes just makes you scratch your head.

butch is safe for a couple more years after that florida win---with all the injuries and young players, he is in a rebuilding mode.

I said yes he has to win out but some many people here have accepted mediocrity and will still support him if we lose out.

He wont ever be fired. He's too good of a salesman. He's already sold all these sunshine pumpers 1987 hondas and told them they were mercedes. He is already using the injury excuse. Next year once all his good players get the hell out of dodge and try for the nfl, he will go back to using the age and experience excuse. And thus the cycle of the used car salesman begins again.

We do realize we are on track for our best season in over 10 years right? 04 may have been slightly better. 01 was better. Why would you ever consider firing a coach who is on track to produce these results? Have we already forgotten where we were 3 years ago?

Butch does not have to win out to keep his job. I would wager there is over a 99% chance that he will be the Volunteers coach next year if he wants to retain the position.

However, if he wants to continue having the confidence of the majority of the fan base, he needs to win out. If he can finish with 10+ wins, that is a very good season, especially since we haven't done that in recent memory. And, it would continue the upward trajectory.

I am as disappointed as anybody over the performance yesterday, and it plants a seed of doubt in my mind, but there were a lot of contributing factors. I'm interested to see how this team looks against the rest of the SEC.

No, he's safe for another year. However, if he doesn't win out he goes into next year on the hot seat. Due to our AD situation he won't be fired after this year no matter what happens.

This is true. If he loses to KY or Vandy the seat will be really hot!

There is so much truth here

And some fans will gobble it up like biscuits and gravy
