Do you want Coach Martin to stay or go?

I am not going to be like 35,995 people who are afraid to admit it. I signed the petition. I also voted go, but just barely.

Why, you ask? Well, I would have liked to have had Pearl, and I knew that we had to jump at him while he was still available. I am not against Cuonzo, though. I was just for Bruce Pearl, or any high caliber coach.

Obviously, I will not likely be happy if we get another "have to Google him" coach. I am betting on Gregg Marshall, so I voted go.

I do not like the fact that Cuonzo is such a good character coach and I am wanting him to go. That will be hard to replace, but in the end analysis, I want a coach that wins the games he is supposed to. I want a coach that wins the recruiting battles. I want the players to be upstanding citizens too, but that is not what I turn the tv on to see. That is just reality, whether I like to admit it or not.

You're the kind of fan who tries to make other fans feel like less of fans because you wanna be a bigger fan and you want other fans to look up to you as a role model fan and you just generally are a fan of being a fan. That's the kind of fan you are. And to be honest, I'm not a fan of that kind of fan one bit.

Fantastic!:clapping:

I agree one quadrillion bajillion times over. Bama Dave and Booger eater are going to low ball all good coaches and we are going to wind up with a coach from Southwestern Puerto Rico State Community College of Arkansas Penitentiary:banghead2::censored:.

Racist IMHO ... (the arkansas pen part)

A winner? Seriosuly Clark? We went 9-7 in the SEC with the best team Martin has every coached. His recruiting is a liability, and if Stokes leaves you will begin to see just how big a liability it really is. From a personal stand point there's no one better then Zo. Hell, his life lessons and love for people are absolutely worth giving him a chance to be a head coach. He's a great human being, but being a great person doesn't make you a fantastic X and O coach. BTO stated the first two years Martin was here, that Martin was the right man for the job if he just finds some top assistants he trust to help him better game plan offensively. He never helped himself by surrounding himself with better offensive minded coaches, and IMO it's his biggest downfall no matter where he coaches next year. The lack of offensive schemes on in-bounds plays and late game situations is a huge negative toward Martin. Martin simply can't win late game situations with lesser talent then his opponent because he doesn't posses the offensive mind set to out scheme other coaches. It's not that I don't like Martin, it's just that I don't think X and O wise he could hold the jock strap of the top coaches in the country. He simply can't win us games by his coaching in terms of offense, and it really worries me going forward with him.

Please check your stats before posting b/s on our site...Martin went 11 - 7 in the SEC this year after being on an imposed two years of probation...give the man a break...know the facts.

I wanted him to stay but after all that happen with the petition I think he deserves better. He was a good guy who stabilized the ship. He came into a difficult situation from the start. Unfortunately, high character and morals doesnt count in sports any more only wins. I picked go.

Please save me the sermon it is Tuesday not Sunday and perfer to pick my own pastor.

I want him to go where he will be appreciated as a head coach...he turns the program into a winner...runs a clean program and we start a petition to fire him for a cheating coach that received a three year ban...please go and get away from this rabid fan base!

How selfless of you. You want what's best for Mr. Martin before the success of your team.

We aren't getting close to a big name so why not keep him. He's growing as a coach.

This is exactly my answer. I hope he stays and continues to mature and succeed. Questionable results so far, but a lot of + intangibles that should be appreciated.

Two things.

1. I was ready to see him go, but he did show improvement over the last 10 games. That was a completely different team and the best we have played in 5 years. Maybe he is getting better.

2. I think he thinks of himself much higher than most people view him. I think this sweet 16 run has given him the opportunity to act like he's better than he is whether that be holding out for more money years or just showing that he could leave if he wanted to

I voted stay because i would rather have him as our coach than someone comparable to buzz peterson, kevin o'neil and wade houston.

For recruiting reasons (& for the possibility of Stokes staying another year), I'd like a 5th option: Stay 1 more year and then ask me again.

Isn't that pretty much true most everywhere now a days with the 'what have you done for me lately' attitude of so many fans?
