Poll: Do you think we're going to get better before season's end?

Do you expect to see the team improve this year?

As if Oregon wasn't bad enough, the Florida game showed us just how dire the QB situation is. It's probably pretty evident to everyone that if we perform like this all season, we may not win an SEC game aside from (likely) Kentucky.

That being said, do you expect to see the offense and this team as a whole improve and still make it to a bowl game?

**EDIT** 4th option I meant to say the team will improve, make it to a bowl game, AND get a signature win (be it against UGA, SC, or a bowl win, etc)

Yes I think we will get better. Better to the point that we are bowl eligible....check back in early November...

The QB situation is part and parcel to the development of the WR's/TE's, conversion of the OL, and performance of the RB's. Improvement in any of those areas will have a corresponding effect in other areas. ALMOST every case of improvement in any human activity goes that way. It is an exponential curve that's steep early and flattens out as you approach the true potential of the talent you have.

The angle of the curve relates more to coaching and player motivation than talent. The potential is what it is.... how quickly underperformance approaches potential is a big variable.

Dang sjt...you need some time away from the Boardroom. :)

btw...player experience, both at the college level and in the current system, helps alot too.

We need to get to a bowl game badly, just for the extra practices and also our EE can practice during Bowl Practices

Worley is going to wake up and become the QB he is meant to be...

We win.. South Bama/USC/Auburn/Vandy/UK/Mizzou

thats 8 reg season wins.. cant say if we win bowl game or not as its unknown who we will play

But with that momentum, we can easily get that 9th win

Everyone knew we would lose to Oregon and Florida.. And I don't understand why most are jumping off the deep end all of a sudden when it happens.

Really not sure about Auburn and Mizzou..we really have to improve at the QB position and we need to be able to run the ball:)

Before the news of availability of Jones and Williams I was on the "we're probably going 5-7... maybe 6-6" group. Of course, that's what I thought coming into this year. I thought Florida would be winnable, and it was, but I didn't think we would win against them.

With both Jones and Williams available... the entire makeup of our defense changes. Now we can legitimately (without injury) plan on having Williams/Sutton at CB and Coleman at Nickel. That gives us 3 guys with legit 4.3/4.4 speed at all non-Safety DB positions. Not to knock Toney and Swafford but they're not 4.3/4.4 guys. Jones should provide good depth at CB and Swafford at Nickel. Coaches were very impressed with Williams at CB and he was projecting opposite Coleman.

We also get Saulsberry back by late October if everything goes to plan.

Vereen will also get work and, 1-2 weeks after being healthy this young man is already pushing for a starting position.

With some luck, maybe we get Couch back.

If either Worley develops into something resembling an SEC QB (don't need Tebow here, just a Rick Clausen type) that forces teams to not load 8 in the box against our run... gentlemen, we could have a football team.

Of course, this is all theorycrafting and injuries will likely happen that will change that makeup.

I think the chance to beat any of GA, SC, AL is very small. We just can't seem to score on any team with a decent defense and they all do. I think we beat KY and Candy and split with AU and Mizz. That'll give us 6. We could lose to any of the final four though.

It'll be impossible to project how we'll do against AU and Mizz considering the struggles we've had with mobile QBs.

But, like I said, could very easily be our fastest top to bottom secondary in years if we get Sutton/Williams/Coleman out there with McNeil/Randolph.

If CBJ is the coach we all hope he is then yes we will see improvement as the season goes along. We will go 6-6 and make a bowl.
