Do you think he did the right thing or not?

This is my first attempt at starting a poll, so let's see how I do... :)

What did CDD do in handling the situation? Hard to vote without knowing what he did and didn't do??

The Aaron Dougles situation? No

I think he should have at least made an effort to keep him(5* talent) on the team. instead of saying "doors are open, see me if you're interested" he should have reached out to him first and planned talking to him face to face. he had multiple chances because BB was on campus for many months. now that doesn't necessarily mean BB staying on the team but I do question Dooley's communication skills with players that are not happy with the team. for whatever reason Aaron Douglas was not happy with the team as well but it ended up with a worst situation which is valuable OL leaving the team.
although Kiffin failed on keeping Seantrel, but he at least he tried by flying to his hometown along with Monte and other assistant coaches to meet face to face.

Absolutely. No argument otherwise. You don't let a little prima donna walk over your program or your authority. If he doesn't want to be here, in the eyes of a coach, then get him the heck out.

Although I wish BB would stay and play for UT, you can't have someone with an attitude like that on your team. I wish him luck.

FYP.

I doubt BB was around before either Madonna or the Theotokos.

Of course Fiji was one of the NOs. Should have known!
Dooley handled the enture situation with class. The door was wide open for BB and he acted like the BIATCH he is!

From what I understand Dooley scheduled appointments with him. He did reach out.

There was nothing else he could do besides just come out and say that Bryce wouldn't be welcomed back, which would be a mistake in my opinion.

i said no. i did it with the assumption that i dont know everything that happened. i like that he handled it respectfully and allowed BB the oppurutunity to come back and compete for playing time.

i do think that, for a player with the profile and talent of BB, Dooley should have, for a lack of better word, catered to him. i really wish i had a better word, because he shouldnt be catered too at all. but reach out and let the kid know you are willing to work with him to get what he wants. maybe he did, and things fell through anyways. again, i dont know.

By now, everyone should be able to recognize when it's intentionally mis-spelled.

I stop in occasionally; I don't live here. Pardon me if I don't get every inside joke.

I think you are way off base here. This is a "team" sport and each player should be valued and treated as similarly as possible. Coach Dooley has said publicly on many occasions that he was willing to take BB back if the team would accept him and it was published that the team would welcome him back. We don't need prima donnas on our team, acting selfishly and only in their best interest, with no respect for the team or the University. We need individuals with integrity to rebuild our program!

For those clueless enough to vote no, what else should DD have done to keep BB? You want our coach to go crawling on his knees to beg some 19yr old kid to stay on the team?

If the kid didn't want to be here, then so be it. His talent will be missed, but not to the point that I would want our HC catering to him. All that does is cause discontent among the other players that do want to be here.

I could not agree more. I have a prime example of a prima donna - TO. Yes, incredible athlete but a cancer to every team he has been on. How many times he has been traded already? 5? MMMM I wonder why? Well, BB reminds me of him and it all started when he hired a person to handle his recruitment. He fit into Kiffin's world but not in DD's nor the world that resides on the hill!

That's one Hell of a stretch. When did Brown ever publicly criticize his coaches or teammates?

But thanks for being one of about 10 people on here who can correctly spell prima donna.

Yes, it may be (is) quite the stretch. However, you get the point! If he had staid, he would have been a cancer to the team.

Your consistent negativety always seems to amuse me and I appreciate that! :p

I don't think BB was a cancer on the football team, I don't recall him saying he wanted to run the ball more, or that the o-line needed to run block better in the media. I can't blame the guy for wanting to leave, but it saids something about a person when he leaves without talking to the head coach.
We need to stop talking about BB the story is getting really old.
