I voted no b/c this is an expected win. The uf, uga, and usc games were all bigger than this game is, but the backlash from losing this one would be greater than any of the other games

I have a bet on it that involves doing the chicken dance on video. So make no mistake. This is the biggest game EVER!

Disagree. No one knew how bad FL was until they actually got into the season, and until that game, everyone (sensible) had it marked down as a loss for UT anyway. Our record is what it should be at this point.

Are you speaking of last year's Florida game? Because if so I agree. But after Florida went 4-8 last year and we have them at home, expectations were (rightfully) to beat them this year. We had them beat and choked. Butch has two severe dents on his record at UT thus far IMHO; losing to Vandy last year and losing to Florida this year. He has parried those losses with wins against USC but now it's time to go bowling. No excuses will suffice for not making it to the post season this year.

It begins with this game. We have to win this game first for the rest to matter. Win 2 out of the next 3 and we go bowling.

There may come a day (hell froze over) when a win over UK will mean a team has "turned the corner" but heaven forbid that team ever be the Vols.

We get the W Saturday then begin to prepare for Missouri, a game that means more in determining where we are as a program than playing the perennial little sisters (UK/Vandy) of the SECe.

This game by itself is not any sort of "statement game". I do believe that the next three games looked at together will be a sort of statement.
Last year we beat South Carolina, but did nothing to really carry that momentum to prove that we "turned a corner".
This year we again beat them, and now it is a question of if we can actually turn that into momentum or if we crumble again. All three of these games are winnable.

If we beat Kentucky and Vandy but lose to Missouri, we still have question marks, even though we go to a bowl.

If we only beat Vandy out of the next two, then there should be some real concern.

Win all three and we can start looking optimistically that maybe we have "clicked", and have some good positive momentum going into the offseason. Depending on whom we are matched up against in a bowl, I am still feeling pretty good about our direction regardless of outcome.

If we lose all three, then go get in your bomb shelter, because it could be the end of the world.

This is a huge game for Butch Jones and the Vols... Win and we most likely go to a bowl, lose and we most likely don't. I'm very anxious about this game.

Poll question is not asking/saying anything about Mizzou

It is important because it's the next game. Being an opponent we usually defeat, well you get the idea. Since half of VN wants us to "fahr Butch and fahr all the assistants" and the other half have some sense, it is an opportunity for them to show us some improvement and consistency. In reality it's just another game in just another season in the history of our storied program.

So let's put a good ole azz whuppin on 'em and finish out by winning all 3 of the remaining games and go to a bowl so we get the 15 extra practices and VN has something to argue about for another month before the off season.

Simple its either this week or next week against MIZZ, we got to win one of the 2 if we lose this week there would be a lot of presser next week against MIZZ, the whole fan base is so fired up after the SC win making bowl plans and talking about running the table and finish 8 and 5, would not be the end of the world if we lose the next 2, but it would be a major let down to all of VOL NATION, if we are really climbing the ladder back to the top, we got to get to a BOWL.:ermm:

It is a HUGE game for Butch.

Lose at home to Stoops, and it sends a clear message that Stoops is doing A LOT more with A LOT less.

Having said that, I think we boatrace KY this weekend with the Dobb Goblin and the Wild Hurd on the loose.

We are starving for a bowl. CBJ knows this so every game is huge. 200k plus eyes watching your every move and holding on a sliver of hope. Now that's pressure!

Yes, and then the Mizzou game will be the most important, then Vandy, then whoever we draw in a bowl. All important to hold our recruiting momentum.

Florida's defense is legit....ranked #19 in the nation in total defense....Worley threw and Peterman fumbled away a chance at 2 FG's at least in the Florida game...it all isn't Butch's fault in that one...I'm just saying.

Yes this game is the most important game. Each game you face is the most important game. We will win this game against Kentucky and then we will win the game against Missouri. I don't have to tell you all that we will then thrash Vandy. Then we will move on to our bowl game which will be the most important game.
