I've lost 27 pounds since January 8th. Current weight is 246 pounds, which I haven't been at since I was in college. At various times in the mid-nineties, I had ballooned to nearly 370 pounds. When I was officially diagnosed with type II diabetes in March of 2006, I was at 327.

It's been a long, slow process.

Congrats. I got up to 300+ when I graduated in '12. back down to around 200, its a slow process to keep it up, but its the best results.

People Rarely Think About THE Other Side Of That Coin But It SUCKS too. I have never been able to weigh more than 162 lbs. In my life until last year. Always a hard gainer...spent a fortune on anything but steroids. Last year was able to take in about 4000 calories a day for 6 months straight ...hated it....took test boosters and lifted 5 days a week. Got the flu and couldn't eat for 2 days, almost 3.

I lost every ounce of muscle and now weigh 154 again. Complete waste of time money and effort. It's time now to start again and I really don't even want to. I am the same size I was in h.s. 20 years ago but not as strong without that extra 1o lbs. Been tempted my whole life to run a cycle of turbo but with my luck it would kill me.

Congrats to those who make lasting change . I can't seem to.

This is the same advice you gave me before meeting my girlfriend's parents!

See how well it worked? You have no girlfriend. But you have incredible stories and fantastic memories from your recent trip. You wouldn't have those with a girlfriend.

I've lost 32lbs from 212lbs & hit a brickwall at 180lbs....can't lose anymore. But if I didn't walk each day I'd gain back up to over 200lbs again.

So....you've been waiting for 5 hours now for a load? I guess the job pays the same if you sit still huh?

Yep. :)

Was like this all last week but we managed to get 2 miles down. Down to our last 3,000 feet.

Then we are going to mill and asphalt 35 miles of shoulders.

Might swing by Vol_in _Ark's place and have a beer.

How would you describe your workouts and how many grams of protein did you intake per day?

Adventures in chickening continue. My son's 4H chick chain birds are 1-2 years old. Still have 10 hens and 2 roosters; Red sex links, and 2 americanas.
McMom has purchased a total of 32 chicks over the past week; australorps, buff orphingtons, bresse, and bard rocks, 1 olive egger, and 1 cochin banty.

Sigh.

Must be English ho's. Never heard those names used in the US.

High weight, low rep exercises lifting for mass not cut. I am always cut, just small . Compound exercises not machines, free weights and cables.

Old school bench, squat, curl
2 back surgeries so I can't power clean etc. Anymore...

Example on bench..warm up with 1 set 135. Work 3 sets w 185. Get under 205 or 225 for last set and lift to failure then do negatives with a spotter.

No bullsheet..on my life..when I was in h.s. I weighed 155lbs like now, could 1 rep 265 and do sets of 5 to 8 with 225 by training this way. I can get that strong now, but I have to weigh at least 162 to get there. I am just getting old. Turned 39 last week. Joints and stuff hurt now lol.

Why in the hell don't you just stay skinny. My god man, I would give you 100 lbs if I could. I wish I could weigh 160 again.

Did you take in around 150 grams a protein a day while you were doing these exercises?
