If convicted I would vote for the return of public executions for mad dogs like these guys.

That whole situation is just so so sad.

I personally am opposed to the death penalty but cases like this make me really question my opinion.

They'll just sit on death row for the remaining years of their life. I hate how the death penalty works.

Hear me out. Not that I do not disagree that these guys should get the death penalty, however, why just in a case like this? The murder was not exceptionally brutal. I have yet to find anything concerning rape or sexual assault. From the outside, my perception is that you are overly upset because two African-American males shot and killed a young, very well to do, attractive, and popular white female. Please prove me wrong.

I was waiting to see how long it would take for somebody to bring up this subject. It doesn't matter what color the victim was. These animals murdered in cold blood an innocent, promising leader of our future with unlimited potential. I would feel the same if the young lady was black, Asian, Arab or any other race, creed or religion.

Its all about the amount of media coverage the crime gets. If had been a 300lb couch potato you would have never heard of anything about it, unless you lived nearby and caught it on local news.

The fact that she was successful, young, and pretty made it exceptionally tragic. Along with the fact that she attended a high profile University. I don't know if being white had anything to do with it....

If it makes you feel any better I didn't even know for certain that they were African-American males. I didn't even look at the story I was just commenting on the case in general.

I don't really understand how you could justify trying to turn around what we said against us and try to pull a race card here. I think that ANYTIME a COLLEGE STUDENT is MURDERED by ANYONE it is a horrific thing. I hope that clears up my take on it. I honestly can't believe you have the audacity to try to make me look like I'm bad or racist because it's African-American guys that killed a white girl and that's the only reason I care...

Anytime the world loses anyone to a murder its a tragedy, but ESPECIALLY when it's someone with such great potential to make a positive impact on the world.

That is the only part that should matter.
There's also an animal here in Memphis who murdered his brother, three of his friends and two of his brothers children. They're all black and I would also vote for public execution for the murdering piece of human garbage in this case as well.

No. There is no qualifying statement there. Anytime somebody is murdered it is a tragedy. Potential, talent, skill level, and age should have nothing to do with it.

Just my opinion as a third party reader...

I don't think he was insinuating that you were a racist by your comments. He just posed the question.... I can understand you not liking the fact you were quoted in the post, but I don't think there was any ill will there.

I said that in the beginning of my statement. I said that anytime someone is murdered it is a tragedy. But I don't think it's unfair or irrational at all to consider a potential future doctor and leader a greater loss over just some guy that sits around all day and neglects to pay child support.

Please actually listen to what I'm saying, I would agree that I think that it's unfair to weigh one person's life over another persons. We all have people that love and care about us and rely on us. I acknowledge that even the guy that sits around and neglects to pay child support probably has people that value his life and it'd be sad if he were to be murdered. But at the same time I think it is without a doubt a greater loss for society to lose someone who was a leader and future doctor. Which does the world need more of?

That's fine but if that's the case I think he should make that a little bit more clear.

He basically made it sound to me like I was in the wrong for thinking this is a sad thing and that I don't care about other people murdered. Whether that is the case or not if I see that potential there I'm going to try to clear my thoughts up.

Haha thanks for your attempted intervention though. There are times where my interpretations are wayyy off.

fair enough, I'll go on believing it's better to help a man who needs serious help than to just kill him off too. Two killings are better than one any day of the week. And with this particular case, we get 3 killings. EVEN BETTER! long live death!
