Pokemon GO (mobile)

Optional microtransactions. They have a system where people can earn the currency used for free (and really one can get almost all the items in the shop without said currency or actually paying), but like with any popular free-to-play games there's always going to be a significant number that just pay to get items, etc.

lol I know that now - my sister yelled at my niece for buying credits and putting the charge on her phone bill

Anyway you look at it, the success of Pokémon Go is great news not just for Nintendo but for gaming in general. I've said it before but a healthy, thriving Nintendo is always great for the gaming industry. I just hope they can take this success and apply it to their home console business. I'm extremely interested to learn just what the NX is and what it's capable of. I'll buy a Nintendo console just to play Nintendo games. But it has to get consistent support. Wii U titles took too damn long to come out.

Oh and get some more IP's on mobile Nintendo! I want to play Mario Golf, Pikmin, and Mario Party on my phone!

This will do more to combat child obesity in 1 month than Michelle Obama has done in 8 years

Not really... I am at west town mall watching people play cell phone in one hand and ice cream cone in the other.

Except Nintendo isn't really learning anything business-wise from this game. Nintendo owns stake in the Pokemon Company and stake in Niantic, but Nintendo themselves had no real involvement with making this game.

Well I deleted it. I had luck on my side I guess. I had several of the rare Pokemon and most all of mine were over 1,000 cp after upgrading them. Owned the gyms near where I live for days at a time and just got bored of it.

I'm just saying the success of Pokémon Go is providing a huge boost to Nintendo's financials. Whether Nintendo has learned their lesson or not remains to be seen with the NX. Either way I'm rooting for them.

They might have with this new CEO... Who knows, but I'll go with they haven't until they show me they have.

This is one thing my wife and I both enjoy so that makes it more fun. We went and joined one gym while taking over another. I'm not sure how long we'll play, as it can be time consuming (especially if you plan on maintaining a gym) but it's been fun thus far.

I'm level 19, nearly 20. This game gets really grindy once you begin to level up. I went on a Pokemon Go bar crawl last Friday and had a blast with it.

Team Instinct is the best. Zapdos is clearly the best of the legendary birds. Come on now.

Damn! I came across a Bulbasaur today at work. I spent 5 pokeballs trying to catch him and he escaped out of every one of them then disappeared! :banghead2:

If rattata and zubat were cash, I'd be able to buy everyone season tickets to the Vols.

They need to or it's staying power will be greatly diminished.

Some things they need to fix with this game...

1.) The game needs to suspend/pause your incense timer and egg incubation when you log out of the game and then resume when you log back in. The fact that it runs continuously whether you're logged in or not is horse****.

2.) They need to figure out a way to notify us if a Pokémon is nearby without us having to be fully logged into the game, kind of like a You Tube subscription notification. Otherwise, it's too much of a drain on our batteries.

3.) Google Maps is a HUGE drain on our data. Unless WiFi is nearby, you cannot play this for very long without it completely eating into your data. There needs to be a solution to this. Maybe work something out with providers.

4.) And finally, get trading and battling with friends into the game pronto!

Agree with all of these. Nothing more aggravating than popping a lure module, incense, and lucky egg expecting a big haul only to have the game crash, log you out, and servers are down for maintenance message. More times than not by the time you are able to log back in almost all or all of your time on your buffs has expired. Quite annoying.
