I'd like to add a utility sink to my laundry room. Can it run using the washing machine hookups? In particular, can I use the discharge tube as the drain for the sink?

Yes.
I would just make sure it’s tied in above the washer discharge so the utility sink doesn’t occasionally fill with water when the washer drains.

I just did something similar on a rental property.
