This game has been and always will be Tennessee's biggest and most hated rival. The bammers can say what they will right now because the rivalry hasn't been competitive in many years so they feel "pity" for us now just like I felt "pity" for them in the 90's and early 2000's when we had our way with them for years and they went from coach to coach to coach before Saban. True Bama fans hate us as much as we hate them it's just that we have been through so much turmoil that some empathy is creeping in and also they want it to be competitive again so they can go back to hating us and looking forward to this rivalry again. Actually some old timer Bama fans consider the 3rd Saturday in October a more heated rivalry than the Iron Bowl especially when it's competitive!

I understand that you've given up on your coach. I would likely have done the same thing. Just don't give up on the players. They're 18 - 22 year old kids doing what they've been coached to do. I'd bet the majority of them are proud to wear Tennessee orange. Give the kids another shot and all the support you can muster. They're worth it. Tennessee's worth it.

Born in Birmingham. Taken against my wishes as a small child when the family moved to NC. :) As the third child of four in college, out of state tuition was not an option so Tuscaloosa was out.

Went to school in Chapel Hill ... back when they actually played football and went to class there ... and loved it.

Son went to App State. We fell in love with the school which is less than two hours from our home in NC mountains. He graduated in 2009. We're all still fans.

Oh, BTW, I can't stand Florida either!

Depends on the generation. I'm 44 and Ala is our biggest rivals in my eyes. But to the younger generation it's Fla. I hate both either way.

So when Fulmer owned Bama, it was not a rivalry then either? This series has been about streaks so much I guess it's never been one.

I think the drag on this rivalry has little do with the current streak, as it's always been a streaky series. I think it's mostly about how bad the games had been. When 8 out of 10 games simply aren't competitive, then folks outside the two fanbases aren't going to be interested.

Crazy stat .... Only 3 times in the last 50 years has either team had a win that hasn't been part of a streak.

It's like those brain-dead morons forgot that we won 10 out of 12 from '95 to '06. Alabama has won 7 of the last 9 Iron Bowls-Dumb Bammer logic-Not a rivalry.

This thread indicates just how far the Vols have fallen, the third Saturday in October used to be "The Game" for Vol fans.


Unfortunately, it won't take long for the superior talent to take charge and cruise to Victory:cray:
