I've not seen anyone downplaying the wins. Just another thread to bash negavols when your reason for doing so doesn't exist?

I think the simple point that the op is trying to get across is that there should be no such thing as a "negavol" at this, 5-0 point. Just VOL fans, then the rest of the country.

want to know why i'm being negative at times ? 1. just like the 2015 Fla. game we have the ball late and all we need is one 1st. down and the clock takes over. in fla. 3 dumbazz run plays in a row, no yardage, punt. same thing at ga.this sat. run kamara left 3 times in a row and ga. ends up with the ball with about 1:15 left on their 19. just like Fla. they get a couple of completions and then BOOM...TD. just so happened at ga. the penalty forced ga. to use their final timeout which should have aided us because it gave us time to think the matter over. 19 seconds left..... they have no timeouts and 47 yards to go and they trail by 4. what you think they are going to do? come on einstein, sherlock, it's not that difficult is it ? did you come up with the answer quickly ? if not you have 3 timeouts. maybe you could watch them set their offense and get a better idea and then use a timeout. they have no choice but to go for the endzone and maybe get two chances to do it. so someone in the know you would think our team would have a defensive scheme designed to make extra sure nothing gets by us deep at any cost. UT actually played a standard defensive set. rushed 4 when it coulda been 3 and that's 1 extra deep safetey and i'm sure we coulda put 1 more deep due to that circumstance. game shoulda ended 28-24 UT after the TD on fumble. Yeah in a fantasy world i can handle all the miracle finishes, the unbelievable streak play i've seen the past two weeks..... but i prefer reality where our team executes because they are coached well and play every down with meaning. like many have mentioned this week,we are 5-0 but there are a lot of doubters and it's due to a lack of consistency and true champions are consistent. we can get a 43 yd. hail mary to win with 10 seconds left but we can't get 10 yds. with 1:24 left.... go fiqure. at least our coach takes it one game at a time. i just want to win games like we did at #11 northwestern. beat 'em unmercifully for 3 qtrs. and let our young guns put 14 more on 'em. make statements and leave no doubts!!!!!!:twocents:

It doesnt matter if you win by 1 or 50. A win is a win. We have been consistent if you think about it. We have consistently came out and dominated the second half of games and finished. 5-0 shows consistency. Now let me preface by saying I am not comparing this team to the 1998 squad. Having said that, there were several games that season where we should have probably dominated more hut statistically we didnt. Arkansas, MSU and Auburn come to mind. But guess what? We won. Winning is all that matters. If we won every game by 1 point, we would be SEC champs and in the playoffs. Its all about wins. Nobody cares abou how we played in 1998. The only thing that matters is we went undefeated and won the title.

While we should be focused on A&M I promise no team wants to play us. These players look at us like we can do the impossible.

This had nothing to do with anyone on this board. Are some of you guys off your meds or something?

This has to do with the media and even some of our ex players that are on shows. Pissing on the fight, heart and resiliency of this team.

Now, go back to being miserable.

They're a sensitive lot.

Just think if the posters and the team could put it all together in one game.

Someday I'm going to make the PERFECT sandwich. Not going to starve while I'm waiting. :wink2:

That is true. It is one thing to play a team that is dominant and consistent game after game (e.g. OSU and Alabama). When you play them, you know what they are capable of and you see that through consistent play.

A team that performs like Tennessee has, looking not so good at times and then unbeatable at other times coming from being significantly behind to win - is hard to predict. No one, absolutely no one, except maybe the coaches and the players, know the ceiling for this team. I think we saw a glimpse of what that could be in the second half of the Florida game and that pace was just unreal. When you have Florida players needing a breather - that is huge.

Our opponents are probably hoping the real team is the first half team while praying the real team is not the second half team.

If the problem is truly inconsistent execution, as it seems to me, and they start clicking from start to finish - the team they are playing is going to want to leave at halftime and not come back.

I just don't think that we should take A&M as lightly as some are on this board. They've earned the right to be in the top ten and by all indications are a good team.

Do I think we're gong to beat them? Hell yes, but only if they're taken seriously because they ARE a good team.

Maybe it was because it was an away game. But did anyone here pay attention to A&M at USC this weekend? I watched some of it (during our game's long and many advertising ) and they didn't look to be all that dominating. Could it be they are just a little overrated or were they looking past USC at us?

Good post. Not many on here know about 98 ,only the record. When you look at a season record, all it shows is won and loss. A few years or months from now many people will only see our first 5 games won and loss, not how any game happened. Right now that record is 5-0, lets hope that Saturday night it reads 6-0. Who cares how it happens?

We have had a great two weeks.

1st- we have beaten a team that we haven't beaten in 11 years. And, nobody picked us to win. They had the no.1 def. and they are better than the game they played against
Vandy.

2nd- we went into a hostile environment this last Saturday and won. Everyone was saying that the GA. game was a trap game and most people again said we would lose.
We took GA.'s best shot and came out victorious.

I'm tired of hearing people downplay what we have done the last two weeks. We are a team that's winning. And, while we are winning, we are gaining confidence and beginning to believe we can win it all.

Bring on TA&M. While people are saying we should worry about tam. Maybe they should be worrying about us.
Because, when we put it all together, we are a team that should be feared.

GO VOLS!!!
Let's beat these damn aggies!!!!

We were favored in both games. Your straw man argument that UT won both games that NOBODY and MOST people thought we would lose, is preposterous.

Let everyone downplay all 12 of them. I wonder if we win a National Title if everyone will also downplay that??

A lot of the national media will downplay it. Many Vol fans will be streaking down Cumberland if we pulled in the Natty.
