I mean, why not? Get the guy some more experience in a big game that he can use heading into next year. I would probably play both QB's...maybe half and half or something. Erik Ainge has had his chance.....now it's time to pass the torch over to Crompton.

Ainge has plenty of time in the NFL combine and the Senior Bowl (maybe?) to prove himself to NFL scouts. Let Crompton have an oppotunity get his feet wet.

Fulmer beching him now even after this game.

I would rather see Gerald Jones than Crompton. However, this year is not over. Lets finish it out with Ainge.

Can they just forfeit the bowl. So we don't have to watch another uninspired georgia dome effort.

You want to explain that statement??

Because it is a dumb thread. You dont yank your senior QB out of his last game because of two mistakes.

Ainge was one of the main reasons we were in this game in the first place.

I am just as disappointed as everyone else but you dont take away his opportunity to end his college career with a win.

How about "I disagree" instead of calling it a "dumb thread"?

I seriously doubt I'm the only fan who wants to see Crompton play in the bowl game. It may be "dumb", but I think you'll find it isn't as far in the minority opinion as you think.

btw, I didn't say "yank" him. I said play both of them half an half.

Yes, I realize this won't happen, but that doesn't mean I can't holler for it!

When you consider how many starters on the offense will be returning next year, i think it would make sense to give Crompton a shot at driving the bus again but i also doubt it happens.

I'm in agreement with the previous poster 100%. Ainge had his day and screwed the pooch. Give it to Crompton to move forward for next year. It ain't like we're playin' for a title for cryin out loud in the bowl game.

No I stand by my statement, this was a dumb thread.
The kid has done great things while here, it would be plain disrespectful to have crompton play over him.

"Holler" all you want, by in my mind you just add to all of the disappointing negative vol fans on here.

Yes, I'm a negavol because I can see the obvious good for the future that would come out of giving Crompton some significant playing time.

If we let Ainge play the whole game.......yes, that's nice to let the senior finish out his career being the only QB or whatever. But what good does that do US as fans and the football program in general? None. We're 9-4 playing in a mediocre bowl game. It could only be a good thing to let Crompton play.

The last time I checked, it was about doing what is best in the interest of the team as a whole......not paying homage to the quarterback just because he's a senior. Give me a break. In a few years Ainge will be forgotten. What matters is the here and now. I stand by my statement that giving some snaps to Crompton (for serious passing plays, not weird option runs) is in the best interest of the team. I'm loyal to UT, not one player that wears a UT jersey.

there's no reason for this to happen. ainge and the offense already have a certain chemistry that they have developed this season that crompton may not have yet with the first team. unless ainge just completely blows it in the bowl game, ainge should play. it really shouldn't be an issue.
