Hopefully this doesn’t happen. Losing Burns wasn’t that bad but losing Elarbee would be a big blow. I want some stability dang it. Having said that, it does say something that the team that just won the NC has interest in Elarbee.

My main concern is if an assistant is really wanted to be retained.....
Will the UT AD pony up an offer he can't refuse?
Upward moves shows progress.
Lateral moves not so much.
Downward moves signal an upcoming coaching change.

I don't think money will ever be an issues with White that seems to be his specialty so I don't think that will be an issue jmo.

Saban has enough of a reputation on his own that recruiting is not negatively impacted by assistants moving on. At most normal schools however, recruiting revolves around personal relationships between assistant coaches and high school players. We lose an assistant, we often lose those connections. Saban‘s name carries all the clout needed to overcome such issues at Bama.

Elarbee and Heupel are super loyal to each other. If anything Elarbee gets a pay raise but most likely a 96.8695% chance he stays in Knoxville.

Yep he is just devastated. He only won the SEC championship but not the NC this past season when he usually wins both most yrs. He probably goes to bed crying every night.

He was pretty good there before, I was pretty happy when we hired him, but he's just sucked since he left. Since then he's worked for Pruitt and Harsin, two micromanaging a-holes by all accounts.

I remember us not being real happy with him the last time he was here.

He certainly wasn't good here, but he worked for Pruitt, man was a total disaster, he moved on to work for Harsin, who also appears to be a Pruitt-level disaster, so it's hard to say. Friend had a pretty good career going before he made the poor choices of working for those two.
