I said 6-6 before we knew who would replace that guy that left. Then I felt more like 9-3. I hope they end up finishing with a win and get a good bowl game. I’d like to go again.

It's just that this team is so close to having beaten OU, Georgia, or both (the Alabama game could have gone either way as well given the 10-14 point swing on the pick six). It's enough to drive a fan mad, but "if ifs and buts were candy and nuts, what a merry Christmas it would be."

Glad we've won the games we were definitely supposed to, especially this one. We're kinda like the Penn State of the SEC this year.

The Oklahoma game is what caused this season to be a stinker. Because we should be inside the Top 10 right now. I’m willing to concede the Georgia loss to the best coach in the country and the Bama loss as we haven’t won there in 22 years.

Oklahoma had a maimed QB and a coach a couple weeks away from the hot seat and we laid a big fat goose egg at home where we hadn’t lost to a non Georgia team in 4 years.

I don’t know how long you’ve been a Vol fan. But the 1990s Fulmer years were great. But even during Fulmer’s best days, we still had a few 8-4 seasons in there, including Peyton’s freshman season.

We need to be in the hunt most years. And even this year, we were in the hunt. We just lost one too-many games. And we were competitive in every loss.

We need to get back to the days where 8-4 seasons are the floor. And rare. We’ve done that.

We also need that special team that can win it all. We don’t have that yet. But I have high hopes for the Brandon years.
