me thinks our government has bigger things to worry about other than spending my tax dollars on legistlation to alter college football championships. Seriously.

If the government is using my tax dollars to bail out bad banks and the auto industry then I am fine with them taking control of NCAA football and getting it fixed.

I think it makes sense, but will it pass? Something to think about though :)

I'm all for a playoff, but the government getting involved in college football would be a cluster**** of epic proportions. Look at everything else they've screwed up over the years.

Yeah, kind of like they're going to fix healthcare and stop global warming, right?

NO to government intervention in college football!

And this is coming from someone who would prefer a playoff system.

This is a serious issue. I mean the economy and the war in Iraq are important but lets not kid ourselves about what really matters. The worst kinda pain is paying somebody good money to do a crappy job.

As much as I want a playoff, the federal government (especially the morons running it right now) never makes anything better. I'd much rather them screw up football though, then let them screw up the economy, healthcare, taxes or spending anymore. Let's keep them focused on stuff like this and baseball steroids until we can vote them out.

Yeah this is ludicrous, but it shows the incompetence of politicians. Football is the hot sport so now they are taking to their constituents the "I am trying to save college football" argument for re-election. However since last November I have become quite apathetic about politics anyways. Nothing left to look forward to but a lower standard of living.

I already started this thread like 2 hours ago and no responses to it. Do I smell or something? Somebody tell me I don't want to be the smelly kid.

Yay! Maybe one day soon we will see college football being run with the efficiency of the Post Office, the fairness of the IRS, and the successful management practices demonstrated by Amtrak.

I've never hid the fact that I am in full support for the Bowls, and could care less for a "playoff" system. That being set aside, I wish the folks up in Washington would kindly stay the hell out of College Football matters. They'd be better served focusing on their own problems.

Obama's comments during his campaign about "looking into setting up a playoff" was a crock. Their ideas are a crock. Them being involved is a crock.

Memo to politicians:

Leave my beloved college football alone, and mind your own business.

College football may be the most popular sport in the country. A lot of that would be because every game matters. If we somehow end up with a 16 team playoff like so many people want, not every game will matter. It will be the NFL without the talent and the all around competition.

I was actually beginning to believe I was the only person that felt this way. The three of us should start a support group.

I really don't know how anybody can argue with this.
