I was saying it over and over all second half. My wife even looked at me and said "Why are yall playing scared when you got a two TD lead." I was not impressed at all with our offensive play calling or execution in the second half tonight

Hats off to our D they played lights out and held up as long as can be expected. Defensive playcalling was great too. We got a really good D this season. Hope TK and Maggitt are ok because we are going to need them this season.

Hats off to Hurd also. The kid is without a doubt the Real Deal and was one of the few bright spots on our offense tonight.

I blame this one on Debord and Butch. When you have your knee on your opponents throat you DON'T let up. Make no mistake about it we lost this game OK didn't win it. We had them Dead to Rights over and over again but conservative play calling and piss poor execution in the second half let OK hang around long enough to get out of Knoxville with a W.

Butch better have these kids ready for Gainsville. Another loss to Florida and my patience will start wearing thin. I don't expect a SEC crown this season but Butch needs to beat Florida in the worst of ways.

I agree. OK was daring us to throw in the second half. Should we take what the defense is giving us? Jones was like Fulmer tonight. Get a small lead and on each offensive possession, run-run-pass. It was excruciating to watch. With our lead and momentum, this game should have been smooth sailing. I like Jones, but he has to prove he can win a big game. He blew this good opportunity. I just don't get it.

Made 0 sense to me at all. 4th and goal from 1/2 yard and field goal?

Take a knee going into half?

Reminded me of the worst parts of Fulmer and Dooley put together.

I dont understand why going conservative happens, so what this is big boy ball if a team wins 45-0 so be it.

Arm tackles. How many broken tackles did I see tonight. You have to wrap them up, you can't just jump on sombodys back and expect them to go down. Way too many broken tackles to suit me.

Also you are correct, the play calling got very vanilla after we went up 17-0.

It baffled me too. When OK made it 17-10 I looked at my son and said"I've seen this movie to many times. We will find a way to lose" This hurts

.

I know this is what has everyone, me included, upset. Most of us can live with the poor execution part to an extent, but the coaches are paid to find a way to utilize strengths and they just aren't. Be it inability or stubbornness, this staff needs to grow up and grow a pair.

When your defense is on the field for over 10 minutes in the 4th quarter alone, you know you are in bad shape.

We got a lead, Debord pulled up Fulmer's "Randy Sanders Greatest Hits" playbook and went to sleep. No excuse at all for that. If we had at least tried to run some slants and misdirections, maybe a run up the middle here and there and still got beat, I could probably live with the loss a lot better. But we did nothing at all. Nothing. Offense might as well have not bothered to go on the field for the last half, because that's how we played.

Even as bad as our coaches coached we still had to work to lose. Had Ellis not dropped a near perfect pass he would have walked into the end zone and we would have been up 24-3. Foreman's horrible pass interference penalty in the back of end zone on an uncatchable ball. Letting the QB escape on a key drive in the 4th quarter when it looked like we had him for a huge loss on 3rd down and thus giving Jumper just long enough to find a receiver to hold giving them a first down. The list goes on and on.....

For the fans sake... I pray Jones let us know that "as coaches they did not do their part well... and they have to get better".

I need to hear that from him, would make me feel better about the rest of the season. Not so much about fixing mistakes on the field at this juncture.

Sissed out on the first scoring drive. Seemed to be an admission of having an inferior OLine that couldn't get enough leverage to get us a foot up front.

The OLine got the message. Oklahoma's DLine owned them in the 2nd half. Sadly it appeared to be the same weak bunch from last year again.

I'm tired of these softies up front. We really need to recruit some OLinemen with some toughness in them. I don't care if we recruit them from the Bronx or the south side of Chicago, we need linemen who can move bodies and clear space for our RBs.

Playing not to lose I think is buried somewhere in the coach's contract. I think they're supposed to by law or something.
