Did you watch the Oregon/Arizona game? Guess what that loss was blamed on?

Also how many other teams play as many freshman as we do? Answer, none. Throw in the fact UT plays in the toughest conference in the country and it's not "playing the freshman card" it's just fact. But continue with your insightful analogy.

Playing a young and inexperienced team is always mentioned in the PC's. I guess that I'm just tired of hearing it over and over and over again. I just try to determine the difference between what is an excuse and what is a reason.

It's not an excuse when it's an undeniable fact. I hate it too but it is what it is.

I think we are all tired of hearing it but when you look at how many freshman we are forced to play, you can't really argue that the team isn't young. What makes it worse is we don't have any real NFL talent in the senior class either. AJ is probably the closest we have.

People know this team is young. Everyone is just tired of losing. It's the same reason some lump in the last ten years of failures when talking about the issues, which this staff obviously has no control over either.

Not at all but last year we were young, the year before that we were young, and the year before that we were young. When does it end? How long does Jones get a free pass? I wish I had a job making 3 mil a year and when things went bad no one blamed me, no one held me accountable. I don't want Jones fired yet but he has me believing he is no more than a just an ok on field coach. Great recruiter, great with gimmicks and slogans actual coaching meh

I know we're young. I just get tired of it being thrown out all the time. We have a professional staff in place. Is it not their job to train and coach up the young talent? I see a lot of fight in this team as opposed to past teams. The upgrade in morale and competition is undeniable. I keep looking for that upgrade in available talent and keep hearing young, inexperienced, etc. Just frustrated, Freak.

I'm with you. This team is competing though. We knew it would be a tough year. We all told ourselves the goal was six wins and a bowl, but it's hard to live it.

Whatever the case may have been the past five years, I'm focusing on this team, which is young. And our young guys are really good.

Jones is most certainly accountable. But if you thought this team was going to turn it around in 16 games, you were mistaken.

You aren't alone man. Youth has and will cost us games this year but I for one believe every Vol fan has a right to the my cup is full of excuses stance when it comes to this UF debacle. Some want to go way far with it but for the UF game I think we get a pass on the patience card.

I was in on Jones until this lose to a bad Florida team, now I have lost a lot of confidence in him. I don't see this team getting to six, I would consider six wins a good season but I don't see it at this point. Great coaches don't make excuses, they improve their team and find a way to scratch out a win or two they shouldn't get. is he a great coach? I don't think so but only time will tell

I expected six wins, and when the d holds a bad Florida team to 232 yards, 3 turnovers and 10 total points with an offensively minded head coach I expect a win. Was that having too much faith in him, perhaps it was.

It's going to be tough to get to six. I admit.

Look, the offense has been disappointing. Our defense is tons better. Our special teams are better (in some areas). Our recruiting has been fantastic. And the team is competing. It's not all bad.

Talent wins out most of the time and right now we need Butch Jones to rebuild our talent, and he's doing that.

It was a bad game. Our offense was attrocious.

After another losing season last season, I was expecting six this year. And maybe 7 or 8 next. Is that unrealistic? I didn't think so. If they don't get to six this year do we accept another bad season next year? The excuses next year will be inexperienced qb or we are playing a true freshman so does that give him another free pass?

I was under the impression they graduated highschool last year ...hmm no wonder. But Mike Tyson was knocking dudes out older than him lol
