Montori Hughes will probably be huge for us next season. I remember reading the comments that Albert Haynesworth made about him being a monster. Couple that with Chuck Smith and no Dan Williams and I think he is poised to break out big time.

When Hughes learns to play hard on every down he will be dominate! I hope Chuck Smith can teach him to give the effort!

Montorri Hughes and Marlon Walls are probably the two players who have the most power to change UT's W/L record for better or worse. If those two guys play at an ALL-SEC level, UT could compete for the SEC east crown. If they don't play well, UT will be lucky to finish 4th.

I think that Montori Hughes is going to be a beast this year. I also think that Mat Matt Milton will deffinantly contribute early because of his size.. Also I look for anouther Tight End "H back" To really step up this year considering Coach Dooley runs Double Tights.

Artie has all the Tools, just gotta put it all together and play with confidence.

Im looking for a Jonathan Wade type turnaround from him

Of returning players, I think Greg King will step up, and Janzen will have a monster year taking over for Berry.

For the freshmen, I really think DaRick will be our #1 WR from Day 1, and produce at a high level. I also see Marques Dixon making an impact at Safety/CB and returning kick-offs with Oku.

I'm going to be surprised if we can break the jinx of having a starting linebacker go down with a season ending injury 3 (or was it 4) games in a row.
That being said the biggest surpise is going to be one of the linebackers. Hopefully coach smith can teach the linemen to occupy a blocker (or 2 hopefully) which will free up a backer and probably a safety to make some big plays!

I know its a stretch but i hope we are suprised by the play of both lines this year.

That said, i hope Corey Miller eats some tackles alive.

I liked the way Poole ran in the bowl game. He ran with anger in his blood, i hope that carries over.

Corey Miller is one of my favorite Vols no matter if he ever plays a meaningful snap.

I have some reservations about Poole. I think he's a back who benefits from zone blocking. I haven't heard yet if we will continue to use that scheme.

If we do keep that scheme then he'll be fine. I also like Toney Williams. A lot.

While we lost alot of key players on both sides of the ball (Berry, Mcoy, Williams, Crompton, Hardesty etc.) It does make things kind of exciting because we do have some very talented young players who are going to need to step up and fill the holes left from last year. I mean if you take a look there are many young guys who are going to have an opportunity to step up to the plate and show us what they can do. Jerod Askew is someone we really need to step up and I think(hoping) he is up for it, the kid was a highly touted recruit and there is definetly talent there, right now I think it's more mental for Jerod but if he can pick up the mental part of it I think he is in a great position to make an impact next season. Along with Darren Myles Jr I believe he is in the same boat with Askew, both are young players and have a big opportunity to contribute. Our secondary is full of young talented players that are going to get there chance to see the field Eric Gordon and I am pretty sure Teague is going to be moved to corner. I think Teague will make a great cornerback for us. Montori Hughes is a monster and I really think he is going to have a good year next year if we can get someone next to him to keep him from being double teamed all year. Alot of people are all doom and gloom about next year, which I can understand with the schedule and situations on O line and DT, and ofcourse qb. But I think that are coaches are going to have these kids coached up and at the very least it will be alot of fun to watch all these young talented kids getting playing time. We are loaded with young talented players guys, Imean our rb's Brown, Oku, Williams, Poole. Wr's Rogers, Meline, Milton, Hunter. It really is a shame that our O-Line is so inexperienced and thin, but if anything the future is very bright Vol Nation! Keep your heads up! Even if our O-line struggles we will have most of the same guys for the next 2-3 yrs. So it very well could become a strong point in the seasons following, and they will only improve as time goes on.
