Similar to the other thread and owing to the mention of Randal Cobb, who are some of the players we should have gotten over the years but we didn’t?

R Cobb
Cadillac Williams
Michael Oher?
Patrick Willis
Patrick Turner
Eric Locke?

Who are some others?

Locke ended up here and quite frankly wasn't very good.

Trevor Lawrence and Tee Higgins still hurt to this day. Imagine we had Heupel back then.
Would’ve been a great team. Every time I think about how dysfunctional the last 15+ years were, I remind myself that it all eventually led to Heupel coming here. It wasn’t all for nothing.

I honestly think we’re in a much better place now because of those failures, and maybe it’s a good thing our athletic directors back then didn’t luck into elite coaches or players. That failure eventually gave us the chance to fix the dysfunction.

Dwayne Rudd, linebacker from Miss. Was a lock for UT, Bama's L. Young paid a bunch for him last minute.

We didn't miss this guy. We were loaded at RB while he was up north.
He was a top 10 recruit in the nation and the Vols wanted him, but missed out. Penn State was coming off a national championship year in 86.

Vols signed Reggie Cobb in 86 and Chuck Webb in 87. Throw Tony Thompson in there too, but Thompson was one of the top prospects out of Knoxville of all time.
