Last Saturday Tennessee was gassed by a 2 win Sun Belt Team and many players simply gave up and threw in the towel in the 4th quarter.

How does Pruitt get a handle on this lack of effort from his players and how can he motivate these same players that gave up to Georgia State?

I’m thinking he should have figured this out a while ago.

Unfortunately he keeps playing them.

With players being pulled so much, I wonder how much was lack of effort and how much is being hesitant and worried about making mistakes? Players who think instead of reacting usually look slow and confused. Staff needs to pick the starters and give them some confidence by letting them know they aren't expected to be perfect and won't be benched at the first mistake. If they keep making the same mistakes, that's a different story. You play your best when you're relaxed and reacting.

Turn the roster over? That's really the only hope.

In Year 1, you can understand effort issues. Well maybe not understand it, but at least it's a valid excuse. In Year 2? All the "bad apples" should be out of your program by now.

Is that on Pruitt or on the players? Don’t get me wrong the head coach has the responsibility of motivating the team. But you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken 💩 and this team has some malcontent, lazy pieces of crap on it.

It is one game into Year 2. People are acting like the season is over and the GSU game showing is what happened all year.....

Depends on how many bad apples there are wouldn't it? I tend to look at Pruitt graduating his first recruiting class as the point the roster is completely his.

Then on the other hand there are some who seem to have blind, almost religious, faith in a coach with a short and dismal track record as a head coach.

The last three games have set a very similar and disgusting trend. If that trend continues this Saturday will you preach the same sermon?

Kiffin ran off several players in his lone year and weak roster with little depth was left for Dooley. Dooley sucked anyways but it did not help. If players are unwilling to give their all then bench their azz & play someone else that wants to leave it on the field. If they cry and transfer so be it.

I’m Willing to give him a third year. Why? Because Tennessee won’t hire anyone else worth a damn anyways. How many times do we go through a hiring process with our fans thinking we go after Meyer or someone like that then end up with someone like Dave Doeren?

Butch had virtually no strength and conditioning program and zero accountability. That’s an environment that breeds entitlement and suppresses the growth of leadership. You had malcontents during Fulmer’s time as well but you also had players like Al Wilson that would hold a DA accountable for being lazy or entitled.
