Here is what I think is going on. Just a theory, I'm not stating facts, but I would ASSUME that this happens.

How many of our players grew up with other players that attend a power 5 school? Probably quite a few. Florida, Bama, South Carolina, Miami, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, etc..

Lots of these schools have new coaches, new coordinator that come in every year. Players will ask - "What do you think about your new coach? You like the new scheme? bla bla bla"..

You don't think players recruit each other? We all should know that happens by now.

Yes, players want to win. Yes, players want to play. But when your buddy is having a good time in a scheme that's working out for them, then you have to wonder... "Is it time for a change"?

Some players probably hope for a change within the staff and scheme, but some players will just quit.

What worries me is that the players might not enjoy the offensive scheme now. It's obvious that our offense struggles. Players don't want to believe it's their "lack of effort".. If they are lacking effort, it's because they are just not interested in playing the scheme anymore.

Do you blame them? I don't. We need to revamp our scheme or we aren't going to win many games.

This will start to hurt our recruiting if our major contributors are quitting.

I think the fact you have to sit out a year to attend an FBS school (unless you've graduated) stops a lot of this.

Social media is the conduit for this discontent. It sure makes it easy to create and feed drama that could influence a kid living at ninety miles an hour. And then there's the whole academic distraction to live up to.
