One thing that I admire is everyone's willingness to beat this horse to death.  I applaud you.  :clapping:  :banghead:

Again as I said before some time between his injury last year and before the first game something happened.

Judging by the performance of other positions I'm inclined to think something more than just one player has an issue.

Cspin,

I know you and I have kicked this around, but I have a split decision here.

1 - I don't think Ainge's problems are exactly specific to this year. See the 1st half of the AUB game last year - 4 INTS. Save FL and GA, I thought he played pretty bad last year as well. The thing is, he still looks like a true frosh straight out of HS without any football IQ improvement.

But I will agree he was better last year than this year.

2 - It's pretty apparent that something is wrong other than Ainge. Thus, it is a systemic problem. Funny, the whole world has seen it coming while CPF has not. It's come home to roost.

ainge doesnt have the accuracy to play at this level now. A 40 % completion percentage is ridiculous. theres not a div 1 school who wouldnt bench him.

By comparison, Clausen is completing almost 60%, throwing to the same wr's. He's never found his accuracy since that injury, his arms not the same, for whatever reason.

You mean throwing to the same fullbacks...

I'm normally in the Ainge camp too, but Clausen has the physical talents to at least take Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Let him play the rest of the season.

Dakota tribal wisdom says that when you discover you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount. However, on message boards, we often try other strategies with dead horses, including the following:

1. Buying a stronger whip.
2. Changing riders.
3. Say things like, "This is the way we have always ridden this horse."
4. Appointing a committee to study the horse.
5. Arranging to visit other sites to see how they ride dead horses.
6. Increasing the standards to ride dead horses.
7. Appointing a tiger team to revive the dead horse.
8. Creating a training session to increase our riding ability.
9. Comparing the state of dead horses in todays environment.
10. Change the requirements declaring that "This horse is not dead."
11. Hire contractors to ride the dead horse.
12. Harnessing several dead horses together for increased speed.
13. Declaring that "No horse is too dead to beat."
14. Providing additional funding to increase the horse's performance.
15. Do a Cost Analysis study to see if contractors can ride it cheaper.
16. Purchase a product to make dead horses run faster.
17. Declare the horse is "better, faster and cheaper" dead.
18. Form a quality circle to find uses for dead horses.
19. Revisit the performance requirements for horses.
20. Say this horse was procured with cost as an independent variable.
21. Promote the dead horse to a supervisory position.

There seems to be some kind of dissension on this team whether it is with Ainge or not. Team unity seems to be lacking for one reason or another. CPF does a good job of keeping his players tight-lipped about the state of matters of the team. I notice that CPF only allows certain players to actually make public statements about the team. Every once in a while you'll hear a player slip up and say something that alludes to problems on the team.

Sometimes I wonder if we thought that just because of the last name, he would be something special. This has been very hard to understand, last year he may have looked like a freshman, but played good. Then the injury happen, this changed everything about his ability to throw the ball. I'm not sure about his future but, he may be thinking about home.

Unfortunately the dead horse is the Chief's favorite and the only thing the tribe has left is a broken down nag and two mules. The calvary is in hot pursuit!!

OK here I go, My 1st posting so just stay with me.

I,ve been listening for quite some time and enjoyed it all. This string has gotten my attention. We started out by considering the teams (recievers) efforts and confidence when EA plays as opposed to RC. There are loads of pros and cons both ways. I've been an EA camper all along, especially after RC's comments after the RS issues. My question is, has anyone considered that "they" dont seem to try as hard for EA because he is recieving "payback" because he was picked over Shafer? Just curious, but there is definantley a difference in the energy level on the field.

I still like him, plus RC is gone & "Jimmy" is not comming!
