Players only meeting Sunday

We have a bunch of crybaby fans who want what they want and they want it NOW.
Dont try to reason with them. They would be calling for DD's head if he had beaten MSU.
They will call for his head if we somehow manage to get to 8-4 this year.
Anything less than perfection is unacceptable to them. Perhaps they should look in the mirror.............

And I agree that a lot of it is the frustration of watching a proud program take so long to rebuilt; perhaps they arent young enough to remember the late 70s and early 80s.......
Say what you want about the 90s but they ruined us as fans..........

Well stated!:good!:

This is what i am talking about. CDD has done a great job in stabilizing this team. It takes time to recruit and implement your system. We have 7 new coaches and a new defensive scheme. I believe they are improving every week. This season we are competing with every team we play with an opportunity to win. On the road and at home. Couldn't say that the past two seasons. Now we can. I believe if we stay the course, CDD and CSS will lead us back to the promise land. These young men are sold out to the game plan on both sides of the ball. We have great coaches and recruiting is solid. We should be 8-4 or 7-5 by end of season this year and a Bowl game. Next season 9-3, 10-2 and a Bowl game. The year after that the sky is the limit. Let's stay the course, but we must finish strong. 8-4 or 7-5, nothing less. Go Vols!!

AJ and Herman led a players only meeting Sunday. Basically said those that didn't want to be on the team and give their all needed to quit the team. Hood said the teams cares about Dooley and that he loves Tennessee and they felt responsible for not doing their part in ensuring Dooley stays the head coach at UT. Full article on VQ for those that want and can read the entire article. I wanted to post this mainly for those that say Dooley has lost the team. Not the case. Go Vols!
good post

I know right. It's ridiculous to expect a coach who gets paid millions, to beat a ranked team in 3 years. I can't believe people expect Dooley to have the team prepared consistently week in and week out. Tenn fans are brutal.

"People are going to say what they're going to say, fans are going to say what they want to say. I don't pay any attention to it. All that matters is what's in this circle right here. We have each others' backs; we have coach Dooley's back. We love coach Dooley. There's no other coach I'd rather play for right now."

to all you morons who think that the fans negativity doesn't weight on them, go read this article.
http://tennessee.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1422742

it's nice to see the players vowing to forge ahead thru the tough times. how about us as fans do the same!

BEAT BAMA!

Great post. We need to SUPPORT, not be NEGATIVE. GO VOLS BEAT BAMA!

He doesn't get paid million(s). He is one of the lowest paid coaches in the toughest conference in the country. Some of yall need to realize that throwing the "he gets paid so much to do the job" comment isnt strong when comparing his salary to the market. He's had to deal with more crap that he didn't eat and digest himself than any other coach being paid more than him. People think that it's easy to just come in win and rebuild. Not in the SEC. Especially vs the schedule he's had to face since he's gotten here. Expectations are way to high based solely on our "history" and it sux people want him gone to bring someone in to benefit from all the crap hes had to fix up to this pt.

There's a reason why his buyout is so high and straticially dated to give him time to do it.

CDD can and will win at UT. If he gets the chance

GO VOLS

Amen brother!

I think it's funny how the Ainge show comments thread ran with the negative thing he said about cdd not letting him and reviez in to help coach players (which is a violation) but no one talks about how he said that he believes cdd would win here if given the time. Smh.

Words are cheap.

LB's need to start consistently getting off blocks and playing their assignments. Bray needs to quit choking under pressure. Hunter needs to get a dose of Roger Dorn and start playing for his current teammates instead of his future check.... Sal needs to learn how to gameplan rather than just react in the 2nd half to the trouncing he took in the first. SOMEONE needs to play Safety.

In short... play it- don't just say it.

Does Hunter's contract state that he doesn't have to do unnecessary calisthenics?

You should understand it's not just about wins. Dooley doesn't have a track record that inspires confidence. If a proven coach was producing the same results I still wouldn't be happy, but would still be hopeful about the future based upon that coaches past. It's not just about this year but the trajectory of the program. Why should people believe next year will any better?

I understand your position and that's why I said I'm not sure yet if he can coach or not. Mainly cause he has had so much to deal with off the field that isn't his doing. Takes time IMO for all that to get straightened out. I.e. he needed players to just fill out the roster when he got here. He had to take more chances with talent just to have bodies. Taking higher risk on players not being sec caliber. This is a risk he's had to take that coaches in solid programs dont have too, not one he's had much choice in.

Anyway I really can see cdd as someone that knows what needs to be done and can coach. Obviously his players love him and that's big after so many yrs of hearing otherwise from "insiders". I see a lot of mistakes that are made that he knows the players know better but can't do it himself. I find myself feeling this way a lot when employees do stuff they know they shouldn't but still do no matter how many times you tell them or teach them otherwise. I honestly can't stand seeing people act like they know more about CFB than Derek DOOLEY. I'm certain the man knows more about cfb than 99.9999999% of people. Its hard to believe that saban kept him around with him cause he doesn't, and I'm hard pressed to believe that saban himself didn't learn a bunch from him. I'm sure a conversation about CFB between Dooley and saban isnt one side towards saban but a good equally informative one from the 2.

This is all IMHO that's all....

Short and to the point.

You remind me of that person in the disaster movie that screams "Holy sh!t, we're all gonna die" and soils himself just before the hero slaps him silly so he will stop scaring the children...

How nice it would be if you lost your internet connection...

I literally choked on my food. Like Bill Paxton in Aliens..."Game over man!" HAHAHAHA

My first thought about this was "great, maybe they'll play with some heart for 4 quarters" but talk is cheap so i'll wait and see. What they say on sunday means nothing, its what the do on saturday.

No kidding.

Dooley should be on his knees thanking the fans....it's a testament to this fanbase that at the very minimum SEVENTY THOUSAND PEOPLE (think about how many people that is) continue to show up to support his loser ass. For what he has been paid, he should have been carried out back and put down after his Kentucky debacle...AND THEN HE HAD THE AUDACITY TO BLAME THE FANS AFTERWARD? He's lucky he didn't catch a bullet in his head.

It's truly amazing the lengths some of the morons on this board go to just to kiss his ass.

Anyone with a brain has seen this coming for a long time now.

Can you hear the voice in the cockpit going..."Alarm Alarm...PULL UP

What is his yearly salary?

We are 3 and 3 shouldn't this "team" meeting have been held during halftime last week or maybe the Florida game??? It's a feel good story brah but the bus is already headed down hill and its loaded with all of us Tennessee fans. It's going to be hard to rally against a team that is way better in every aspect of football.

C'mon Derek, you've already quit on your argument? I was generous in giving you two weeks, I didn't think it would only take two minutes.

That wasn't my argument. Your too butt hurt over Dooley you hear his name in every post. It's obvious and it seriously discredits your arguments.

I still hope nothing but the best for Dooley. IF he's the guy then I hope he wins one of the next two plus the last 4 to prove he belongs in the SEC.

That said, Lincoln fired McClellan. McClellan was probably the best General of the Civil War when it comes to building and organizing an army. He simply didn't know how to command in battle. His men loved him... but he failed to use his superior force to finish off Lee.

All the positives you mentioned matter. But if Dooley doesn't prove he can win key battles against other good coaches... then he has to go the way of McClellan.

After the Alabama and USC games we will have played 5 of 8 games against four top ten teams and one top fifteen team. We have been competitive in the three losses so far, a far cry from last year. If the defense would of only been as good as last year we would at least be 5-1, possibly 6-0 now. We are consideralbly improve offensively, but the defense needs to get it in gear. I support my university and especially the players. I will be cheering for them this weekend regardless of the outcome.
I like Coach Dooley and honestly believe he is a good man and face for the program. You players came to our beloved university and we will support YOU. I hope You shock the world this week, go vols.

But isn't fielding a kick-off something thats taught from, lets say, Jr. High on up?

Sorry but the coaches should not have to tell Rivera to come up and field that kick. He should know. I'm sure he's been playing football since he was a kid

I am waiting for the "Coaches Only" meeting with Dave Hart. Better Days Ahead!

No, if you get your way, the team will lose recruits again thru attrition, and in 3 or 4 more years you'll be trying to get THAT coach fired, like you did with Fulmer, and like you're doing with Dooley.

You're just a troll from another team, here to help bring the program down.

A candy fan, most likely.
