Players not buying in...

Please enlighten me to which Alabama fans didn't like Nick Saban when he came to Alabama.

Those that thought a liar wouldn't be the best person to go into a living room and ask parents to entrust their kids to them for 4 years. Once Bama starting winning, those people got over it pretty quick I think.

A lot of fans and players didn't like Saban, and Meyer when they first got there either. I think they all worked out OK.

^^This^^

Saban's first yr at Bama was tough. We lost to freaking LaMo. And Dooley's analogies to WWII seem oddly familiar to Saban's analogies to 911 after that LaMo loss. We also had many players that refused to "buy in", and they hit the road for one reason or another.

Hang in there and give the guy time.

As long as it continues along the 41-10 route, you would give him all the time in the world.

Ummm --- 99.9% of Bama fans were tickled to have Nick Saban, $4mm salary and all. We had been through HELL for years and welcomed his lying ass with open arms. NO JOKE!

Like I said in a previous post, there were players that did not "buy into" Saban's program. They were weeded out one way or another. Dooley's analogies to WWII remind me of Saban's analogies to 911 after the loss to LaMo.

I have a feeling Cody Pope would rather spend his Saturdays logged in to World of Warcraft...

I heard a rumor that Stocker's grandma hates Dooley and Oku's grandpa threw a fit when he got tackled and blamed Monte. Why do we start these BS threads?

At first yeah, they were happy. But after that first year it was pretty ugly down here. And you bammers can't deny it.

Stocker is just having a disappointing season. I don't know who the TE coach is, but he Stocker has not improved at all.

Poor seniors. I feel really bad for them. Gosh, with the number of former NFL coordinators on these 2 coaching staffs, they probably haven't gotten any decent instruction. I would imagine playing in some of the best facilities in the country, on national tv almost every weekend, having the honor of wearing the uniform (something that most of us only dreamed about at that age), and getting treated better than every other college student on campus has probably been really depressing for these guys.
Oh give me a freaking break.

You know just because guys aren't playing well doesn't mean they're not buying in. You know it is possible they might really be hurt or even oh no maybe they're just not having a good season.

It has been constantly brought up about players not buying into the system, especially upper-classmen. He are the top 3 players I think aren't high on Dooley...
1. Luke Stocker
2. David Oku
3. Cody Pope

Stocker never gets the ball and doesnt catch it when he does. No energy there at all.

Oku gives up to easy. No fight in this kid at all. Its obvious this kid workd like hell in the offseason to get bigger and stronger, but hes lost his speed

Cody Pope is the easy choice. No urgency to get back, and is so soft.

I am not sure on Gerald Jones. He seems to have an I dont care attitude, and is always negative, yet he comments about being a better leader and such.

And how do ou know this--are you clairvoyant? Or did you just make it up?

I have a question that kind of ties into this I think. IF we have a few players who for whatever reason..not performing...or not buyig into the new staff and system move on, could UT not find some pretty decent players with offers from lower end schools and ask them to walk on with intent of giving them these vacant scholarships and them not count toward the 26 or whatever the signing limit is? I am not sure how all the numbers work.....

I'm thinking that recruiting players who are on scholarship elsewhere is a no-no

I think its the guy throwning him the ball

Ding Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner!

Simms has a hard enough time picking up receivers that are wide open. When he's not getting balls batted, he's throwing it into their back.

I'm 6'4" and when I met Simms before the FL game, I was amazed at how small he is. He's barely hitting 6'0". Bray is every bit of his listed size though.

Stocker isn't happy because his QB can't see over the big uglies to find him and when he does get a pass thrown his way he has to try and go Julio Jones to catch the damn thing.
