With all the speculation about this being CPF last year, has anyone consider what implication it would have on any players transferring after the season because of Fulmer being "let go" or losing any recruits because Fulmer was the one who recruited them? ala Clemson already losing 2 ESPN 150 recruits.

if we want him gone, we'll have to takr a hiy in recruiting until the new coach can get uo and going

I think you have to make a move soon or you lose too many...

A mid season change should not be ruled out.

It will depend, entirely, on the new coach. If the recruits like him, they will stay.

If not, we probably didn't need them anyway.

We're 2-4, and staring at 5-7.

What do we have to lose at this point?

go vols.

there's no question that when/if we hire a new coach that we're going to experience a few years of growing pains.

We'll probably lose some recruits and players in the short term, but hopefully the future of the program will be 10x stronger in the long run because of greater leadership in our coach.

yeah I think he would. I think he might transfer even if Fulmer wasn't fired.

Do you think our team stinking up the place with their crappy play has an influence on recruits?

I say we just wait til signing day when the players have all of their LOI's signed....then we give Fulmer the can. The only negative side effect could be that we would wait to late to get the coach we want

If UT can move smoothly and have a coach not soon after a retirement/dismissal annoucement, then we might stand a chance of keeping some and even picking up a couple. Regardless, I am prepared to have a down year or two in recruiting to make the HC change. I don't recall us having a stellar year recently (can't remember which exactly). Funny thing about recruiting, there seem to be parade all americans every year. We will get ours and be on track again.

i dont see lennon transfering after this year he would have to sit out a yr which he could possibly start.. plus if we do lose some recruits for a coaching change we will also gain some if we get a top notch coach. it will all even ou tinthe end if it is handled he right way

not a big deal its not like so many of Fulmers recruits are as talented as he leads us to believe. this isn't the 90s where there is a half dozen future NFL athletes comitting. We are getting 1 out of every 10 players we want that has us, FL,GA, USC, Ohio St, Texas, OU listed as potential schools. We are an afterthought till the fat man on the hill rolls out.

he would sit out 1 year, then have 2 years as starter somewhere to boost his NFL rating. That's as opposed to playing 2nd fiddle to Hardesty, and looking over his shoulder at Poole/Oku/Giles.
