Players going out after a loss

I don't know how it is for most teams that lose, but I feel like I wouldn't hit the bars and go out after a loss like we had against UF. Multiple players were seen out at bars Saturday night after the game when the team returned to Knoxville and they didn't seem to be upset about a terrible loss. I highly doubt big time programs celebrate losses, so this might be a reflection on how the players view this coaching staff and this season.

Could be an issue there, but sometimes players need to decompress. Probably all that is.

Players never take a loss like fans do. Been that way forever (even after losses to uf in the 90s). They're college students so they're going to go out on a Saturday night

They have personal lives; this would be like complaining someone going out after a bad day at work or school.

This gives me flashbacks of people complaining about Casey Clausen and Kelly Washington going out in 2002.

Sounds like they were just licking their wounds the normal way. Glad they know how to keep their emotions in check and move on.

I agree with some points about them being in college and enjoying the night but we just lost to our biggest rival so I guess I view it a little different. Also, I am pretty sure players aren't allowed to even go to bars during football season.

they probably shouldn't be drinking alcohol at all during the season...playing with fire... but that's just me

I doubt QD or Kelly were out after the loss. If any of this is true at all it was probably players who have/never will see the field. Most likely 1 or 2 players, but they make it seem like the team went out on the football bus and hit the bars..

Or the guy who had his girlfriend stolen by Tyler Bray

Our biggest rival is Alabama.

Emotionally depressed + alcohol + under age = recipe for trouble. Hopefully they didn't go out alone, maybe there was someone sort of looking after them.

If Butch Jones isn't at the end of the bar drowning his soul in a bottle of JD, then yes, I would agree that something is wrong with this picture.

You assume they are depressed; I think some of you don't realize players may not react like fans do nor how fans think they should.

Don't worry these players were excused from sleep study and dietary analysis by Butch. They were still wearing their GPS pulse moniters high speed cameras and university provided life alerts and Butch is performing a 4 year analytic on the biometrics of "winding down and blowing off steam."
