I'm sure this post is nothing new to those who follow baseball, just wanted to pass along some info that I just found out about.
A former UT baseball's players father told me that his son, who was a prominent member of the baseball team 4 years ago, said that Raleigh was an "idiot," a "jerk," and a "bozo."

He said that the entire team "hated" Raleigh, and is sure that they still do. He said that Raleigh "knows nothing about personnel" and about baseball in general. He said that any UT baseball game you can watch, the players will be sitting on the opposite side of the bench than Raleigh, bc/ the players "want nothing to do with him."

He also went on to say that Delmonico was a great coach, had great credentials, and the players both respected and loved him. I think it would be very interesting and telling if Hamilton waits until after the season to fire Raleigh, but fired Fulmer during the season. I think after the allegations come out this summer, that Hammy gets canned.

Anyway, I just wanted to pass this along for people who are interested in hearing some info, not for people coming here to trash OP's......:hi:

So if I'm reading this right, a guy that never played for Raleigh thinks this about him?

Profound.

Never mind the fact that baseball daddies just seem to be a different breed altogether.

(This post is not an endorsement of Raleigh.)

One of my good friends plays on the team, and I know most of the upper classman. I will tell you that all of the ones that I know can't stand him. Not as much from a baseball knowledge standpoint, but more from a "he is a Prick" standpoint. Baseball is a mental game and for some reason he plays huge mindgames with his players. You can't get in your pitcher's head before he goes out on the mound. He is just ignorant and a pompous @ss, thus most of them don't like him. There is a lot more to it than that but if I share specifics people will know the players I am talking about and that I don't feel comfortable with sharing.

This is all correct--but very old news. For what it is worth he is not a very sound coach either. Coach Delmonico had issues of his own but CTR may be one of the worse hires in history. At any rate -- he is gone so no point rehashing. Time to take out the garbage and hope Hammy doesn't know any other candidates from his Clemson tree.

This player was on both Delmonico and Raleigh's team..... So he knew both of them and the general consensus of the whole team was that they hated Raleigh, and had zero respect for him, and wanted nothing to do with him..... That's about as bad as it gets....

You all are just figuring this out now! I know several of the dads whose sons have left. ( one being a close family friend of Raleigh). Bullying these young men wont make them respect you. One of the dads had it out with TR and told him that in not such a diplomatic fashion. TR does not deserve the title "Coach". since that implies you are a teacher, a developer, an encourager... he meets none of these.

I wasn't saying it was "New" News I was just stating some info that backed up the OP's statement, since the guy I quoted acted like the OP had no idea what he was talking about...

Yes, it's certainly true and even more. I will also say that MH knows all of this and has done nothing. He doesn't care.

You hit the nail on the head. I too know some of the players very well and this is exactly what they say.....

anyone got any solutions?

It's all about optimism...players don't have it, Raleigh seems to have it in spades.

When you your team gets it's azz handed to them 10-1 x 2, and the coach can dish out accolades, I call that unbridled (unfounded) optimism.

I am friends with 4 guys that played while Delmonico was there and they hated his guts and despised him. They wanted to play for UT, not Delmonico.
