Theres a couple of names I haven't heard mentioned in the first week of practice. Vereen, Bowens, Mitchell-Thornton, Martin to name a few.
Anybody have any updates or news of how these guys are doing?

It was a little bit of both. Martin hasn't stepped up like he was expected to and Williams has.

You haven't heard anything on Vereen is because he is currently buried on the depth chart.

If anything it provides much needed depth. Injury's are a part of the game and why you need quality depth.

Nobody has "lost" anything to anybody yet. Coaches are still evaluating everybody. AFAIK, the coaches have not yet posted a starting offensive and defensive lineup just yet. I'm sure we'll know about a week before game time, maybe sooner.

I will make some comments but generally, you don't hear names then they are not showing up and making any noise. JMO

Verren - not making much progress up depth chart

Bowens - at offensive guard but not expected to help much this year.

Mitchell-Thornton at LB not making much movement

Martin - Ben is just too nice a kid. I think he needs to get meaner to hold on to spot.

they have repeatedly switched all kinds of people out over and over. Nobody has lost their job. Martin will be starting come Sept. 6, mark it down.

Williams started at LE again this morning... Bohannan also got some of the second team reps yesterday. Martin may still start, but he needs to get his ass in gear.

Sept. 6th is a Sunday. A little early to be calling Martin an NFL starter.

Has head anything about Quinton Hancock? I remember him doing REALLY well in the spring but haven't heard anything about him since.
