I texted a player and he said they are excited and he's a cool guy, but hard nosed and seems like he's not going to take any crap. I think the team is ready to go!

Wrong. So far he's had the bad fortune of playing for an incompetent hack who didn't know how to utilize his talent.

You do have to feel sympathy for these guys. You only get 4 years to play, and you're upended after 2 by your coach being fired, and in total limbo as to what is going to happen now. The coaching carousel hurts a lot of people when coaches just bolt for something better or get canned for lack of production.

meh. Kind of like losing a stud QB like Josh hurts the team. Maybe we need a Marine Gunny in there to motivate the players. "Improvise, adapt, overcome"

College football is all about rebuilding. Every year. What is needed is depth to minimize that. When you get the kind of depth Gumps have the process is much easier. Hopefully CJP will copy CNS's blueprint.

I think as we get closer to Feb, you'll see us move up the board rather quickly.

With the staff that's already in place and those last 3 or 4 coaches yet to be named, I'll be disappointed if we finish lower than #15. I'll be really happy if we finish around #10.
