player reaction if we hire Kiffin

Okay, I'm reading all of this Kiffin support on here. I will agree (can't believe I am saying this) that Lane is probably the best available coach for the situation that we are in right now. He has a swagger that the players will love and we will rise up quickly. Here's the only requirement that we must put on him, BRING LAYLA WITH YOU!!!!!! If he does that, then it's a done deal!!!

Freak are you really for this scenario to play out this way? It is hard for me to ignore the past and his apparent still juvenile ways. But there is no question he can be a heck of a coach. I wouldn't rant and rave over his hire but am still hoping for something better.

Yes. I don’t think there’s much of a chance it happens though.

Yep. Currie would have to have some huge stones to trot Kiffin out after the Schiano debacle. Even if he did, I doubt there's a lot of support on the hill to bringing him back despite the fact that he's likely the best coach among the candidates we are left to consider. One certainty though....whomever we hire knows we are over a barrel and desperate. Someone is going to be greatly overpaid. Too bad it's not a big name, proven coach. I'm amazed that UT would continue this search with Currie. I see no way he survives this. Same thought has to be going through the candidates minds as well. What coach would want to risk being hired by a guy who may not be here by spring practice? Such an incredible mess.
Did you see how much Currie’s buyout is? That might have something to do with it.

I think the university has proven they don't care what we think. It's gonna be a promotion from within at this point, or some mud major. 500 coach.

That is the problem I see. If Kiffin is the best option, not much chance Currie will choose that curtain. Maybe the docs could do us all a favor by taking the corn cob out his butt.

how and why people allow themselves to be manipulated by selfish wants and needs, therefore feel some half cocked loyalty to the person feeding them is beyond me. i'm just a guy, but, how in the f'ng hell can it be so dang hard to act in the best interests of your constituency, or, fanbase as it is?

it defies common sense. there were decent coaching options available. we had taken a step forward with Botch, then along comes numnuts. i'm still pissed! we got sold a bill of goods by the son of a surgeon. he'll be meticulous they said! he'll have a plan!! he'll talk to everyone! the man cant smile. he cant think on his own. cant perform the functions of this job.

i hate to see someone lose their job. but Currie has to go. he ****ed this up. he couldnt have ****ed it up any more. he is accountable.
