Played the starters too much

Barnes should have gotten more minutes out of the bench. We were just wore down at the end.
Yes because John, Jalen, and Derrick really lit it up when they were out there 🙄 bad matchup, we give up threes and Auburn shoots a ton of them. If we aren’t cheated out of the LSU game we’re still a 1 seed and SEC champs. It’s one game, we’ll be fine

Mad about a lot today, this is not an area where I think we made any wrongs though.

Would have liked to see Pons (if available) for Turner. But a lot of that comes down to Turner needing to be smarter.

Jalen and Derrick didn't look comfortable at all out there. Looked like they wanted to crawl under the floor.
Fulk not much better really either. 2 rebounds and 0 points combined from those 3 guys.
Kyle with 6 pts. Turner with only 3. Everyone else in double digits. Just didn't get it done today.
Need to regroup and get ready for SEC tourney in Nashville. Should be a lot of TN fans there which will help.
GBO!

He was ice cold. Dumb to get into a 3 pt shooting contest w Auburn. We shot way too many

Barnes should have used the bench a lot more than he did all season. There is no point in playing the starters the whole game when we were blowing teams out in the middle of the season.

When you have the garbage lapses this team had for several weeks, you don't empty the bench. That's a reward for doing everything right. Those lapses showed the starters still needed the work.

This is the one game at beginning of season i picked as a loss
Same here, and also predicted we'd finish the season 4-3. When we were 23-1, people didn't like hearing that, but the record came against the soft portion of our schedule and people got a false sense of invincibility about this team. We can't defend the perimeter, and a team like AU will make you pay for it...simple as that.

Plenty of teams win championships with 6 man rotations. Depth is overrated. We just didn't play well enough.
In a game like this against a team like Auburn on the road, you can't get away with only playing 6 players. You have to guard more floor and recover for long rebounds on top of beating the pressure on offense. Our three guards were gassed at the end.

I agree about a part of this. Don’t know why Barnes didn’t play more of a pure perimeter defense and dare them to beat us more inside (although Auburn did a great job of taking it to the hole in the 2nd H). They ran us ragged on the perimeter. There was no surprise they were going to try to do this. Barnes got out coached on this one.

Pancratz thought Bruce was trying to wear us down.

Mark Pancratz has been in Pearls corner for years. He takes full advantage of every opportunity he gets to badmouth Barnes in a mild way because he's jealous for Pearl and the much greater success Barnes' teams have had recently compared to any of Bruce's teams that he was a part of.

Exactly. Steal a couple of minutes a half from him at least. He want kill you on the defensive end.
I don’t understand how he went from starting to not playing. He’s the best pure athlete we have.. Idk man
