Why can't Butch and Debord just have every play ready for every game. Who cares if other coaches see the plays just man up and make them beat you. This crap about only running few plays a game is getting good old. It's going to get him beat. I wish Butch had that killer instinct when coaching. The kind that runs up the score no matter who we are playing.

Just playing op, just getting that in before someone says it, and I think we see a different scheme Saturday.

It's already gotten him beat a few times.

This is who Butch is. We'll never win a championship in this conference with him at the helm.

But he has made us winners again.
10 wins a season is good thing. If he can do that, and then it's hard to be upset.

I agree. Hide your trick plays during these games? Sure. But use these games to sharpen your offense. These are live snaps that matter, there is no better time to open your playbook and work on the offense you'll be running all year.

I rewatched the game last night. Dobbs threw the ball once in the 3rd quarter, and didn't throw again until about 9 minutes left in the game.

Good strategy Butch.... since we all know Dobbs doesn't need any practice throwing the ball in live games.....

This is who Butch is. No team other than Bama will ever win a championship in this conference until Saban retires.

But he has made us winners again.

Us hiding plays to make it seem like we have some elaborate playbook reminds me of this.

It's not like his plays are complicated or anything. Butch isn't fooling anybody. They have been running the same plays for the last 4 years.

That's why I don't buy the whole "we were trying to be vanilla" nonsense. Our opponents know exactly what we run. They have 3 seasons worth of Tennessee-coached Butch Jones film to study.

I have never understood the playing a simple dumbed down set of plays not to show anything. Why not show what you can do. Makes the other team have to spend more time in practice to cover more plays. Also so we dont run plays in a game and then when we do decide to go deeper in the playbook in an important game we now find that we should have practiced those plays in a lesser game.

To me it makes very little sense.

My concern is, what if they weren't holding back

IMO, the only thing they held back was the threat of Dobbs running the football. Other than that, what we saw on Thursday is pretty much all we have.

With that being said, if Dobbs gets involved in the rushing attack, the rest of the offense starts to click including the passing game.

Seems Butch has some relationship with Sam Bradford...asked him to take a look @ The TENNESSEE Playbook...

Ummm every game this is a "playbook" as they install plays for a specific opponent. You don't just go into a game with a 300 play playbook and you don't run plays that you didn't install that you have not gone over.

Yea , we heard that talk with the first games of BJ first 2 years and come to find out that was the real playbook.

Do you see team 120 winning 10 games?

Unfortunately, I think you are correct, with Dobbs Not running the ball, it really handicaps the offense and more
