Play Calling Poll
First, I am elated that teams #119/120 have won the last 9 games. Some of the W's have been UGLY but, only thing better than 9-0 is 10-0.

For the past 10 years or so, I have been skeptical of our coaches sending in effective offensive plays. Someday's I would swear that they have no ability at reading any defensive scheme. And YES, our offense has failed to execute many chances but, more often than not, our plays just seem to be met by the defense right at the line of scrimmage. (and I do not think that anyone can argue that our Offense has under delivered this Fall)

Therefore, just wondering what other VNers think about our play calling:

I just got through reading "The Mannings". I think it should be a required reading for all coaches and players. Especially the offense. Great read! I wish (maybe he has) that Peyton would meet with this offense. I believe just an hour could change their perspective.

My concern about this poll; there have been several times that the right play was called but execution was bad. Several times there were receivers open all over the field and Dobbs missed them, passes were dropped, line couldn't block a 3 year old, etc. All of the gaffs can be blamed on the OC, but I think the play calling has been limited by inconsistencies with on the field play.

93% of those answering so far say our play calling stinks or is worst in SEC.

Message to CBJ and Offensive Staff: Please read the defenses we play, evaluate the strengths & weaknesses of our offense and please call the correct plays. Don't have to be fancy plays or trick plays to beat gators. And please don't forget that we have a ton of weapons of mass destruction both on the field and on the bench.

Ending this streak is in your hands.

Request to poll poster...start this poll again on Sunday morning. It will either be a complete 180, or 99% "worst in SEC.

No middle ground in poll, either all in or critical. It's not the best in the world, but didn't we have one of our better O's last year? Would like to see it improve, but not quite positive it's the problem.

The Vols Oline limits Debord's options calling the plays, as does Dobbs inability to throw the ball down the field, it is what it its, unfortunately

This poll pretty much has two answers. It looks like a poll a 3rd grader would make.

People like you stress me out, you want to throw a dude under the bus and fire him for what? Let's let the season play out and go from there. It seems unessessary to make judgements now. Has his play calling been the best? Not at all. But you're over here trying to be "the guy who sends a message to Butch Jones, and starts a revolution" when this isn't the time for that at all. It almost seems like you, like many others, want to make this about yourself being able to say, "I knew it all along when others didn't." or "I told you so."

It's a game, one that we all love, just enjoy it and do stuff like this when the season is over, when all the hype trains or hot seats are created.
