When we get the right players for our system, we'll really be able to open up the playbook and probably will see a lot more plays called like that. I'm excited.

So long as we do not see clock management of the last two minutes of the first half of the UGA game again. Butch botched that and the first series of the second half when he got us an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on 2nd down to set us up with a 2nd and 25.

That penalty lit a fire under the team. No need to bash that. Butch had every reason to be upset as well.

I removed my comment.

Not according to the replay and it killed our first drive. If he had kept his composure we would at least been second and ten.

So are you saying that that unsportsmanlike call on CBJ cost us the game? That the outcome may have been that we win, instead? Maybe, maybe not. But regardless, it's a mighty high presumption you make....

Whether it killed our drive or not, I agree with one above poster. I'd rather have him going nuts (periodically, not all Muschamp-esque) and taking up for the team when he feels like we're screwed than sitting on his hands or standing there clapping.

I was referring to the unsportsmanlike call being bs. How many of those does muschamp get? Btw, once the ball is snapped, the previous play is not supposed to be reviewed. We ran a frickin REVERSE before they blew it dead

Never said it cost us the game. Where did you get that?

It's called a "jumping to conclusions" mat.

Butch maDe the right decision. Had he taken the TOs, they would have given Georgia the ball back with plenty of time to score. He knew and I knew they would probably have a 3 n out and they did. Smart move.

The penalty? Come on I've never seen a coach get that.

The referee and the LJ threw their flags at the same time on Butch, w/ no hesitation. Don't remember what set him off, but the unsportsmanlike on him was legit.

Post could have more accurately been titled "fumble in OT" or "fall down at the one and kill the clock before you score", imo.

I'd love to have a conversation w/ you about that call, or any other, fball strategy, the weather, politics, religion, current events, pop culture, not many topics off limits. But it's really hard to have a rational conversation/discussion w/ someone who jumps immediately to flaming after a rather benign comment. I'm not offended by your comment, not much can offend me actually, just not interested in communicating w/ someone that reactionary.

If you have ever watched muschamp and can sit there and say CBJ deserved that personal foul is far from rational thinking if you ask me. Not trying to flame you, but that's preposterous

And muschamp isn't the only other coach to do that. He's just the most over the top and the easy target. Damn near every coach at that level gets in the refs ear.

Far from rational, preposterous? 2 officials made the same call at the same time. That's my point. As nutty as WM gets, he keeps his antics on the sideline. Butch came well onto the field, and who knows what he actually said, we couldn't hear him, the stripes could. I'm just going from memory, I've only seen the play one time, live from my seats in Neyland Stadium, so forgive me if I don't recall it exactly as it happened. Maybe WM deserves more penalties than he's gotten for his behavior, but I thought the one on Butch was warranted.
