I've gotten so numb to "issues" hashed and rehashed real or unreal and to losing warranted or not that I am taking a zen approach to the rest of this season.

Zen/Tao quotes:
"After a heavy snowfall the more rigid branches
of the pine break under the weight of the snow,
but the more supple willow branches bend,
thus allowing the snow to fall to the ground."

"When facing a single tree, if you look at a single one of its red leaves, you will not see all the others. When the eye is not set on one leaf, and you face the tree with nothing at all in mind, any number of leaves are visible to the eye without limit. But if a single leaf holds the eye, it will be as if the remaining leaves were not there."

Way I see it a lot of branches have been broken and many of us have focused on those. Stepping back we've had great new players emerge and when all or most are healthy again we have a strong tree that's continuing to grow and is learning flexibility.

My post count has plummeted because most of what we discuss now is so polarized and negative and hyper focused and I find myself numb to even thinking about this team and season. Found these quotes and thought they fit.

And you can directly attribute that to Zen? Can we give credit to alcohol for Tony Larussa's fantastic managerial skills too?

Just saying, he admits it plays a huge role in his coaching ability. What can we directly attribute to you being a dick for no apparent reason? He didn't make you read this thread...

Lol calling me a dick. Nice Zen work going on there. I read nearly every thread here. If Zen were the answer why aren't all winning coaches practicing Buddhism?

OP.

Pretty good thought provoking post.

I think I'll stick with my tried and true method of dealing with these kind of things.

OP is right on the money. This board has been so focused on the problems with the team, and the different factors involved in "causing" our problems, that we have been missing watching the growth of the team.

So let's all just take a deep breath, bring ourselves into focus of the big picture, and just try to enjoy watching the team in orange finish out the season. Don't let the outcome of the games ruin any part of your weekend. It will save you a lot of blood pressure issues.

Thats deep. Deeper then Trent Richardsons pockets from a bama booster.
