Places on the strip

Last time I was on the strip, it looked like alot of things were gone. BWW was gone and hardly no decent bars left.

Have they added anything new lately? Id like to check out some new places Saturday.

You can never go wrong with Half Barrel. Tin roof is the newest bar I can think of or Goal Post Tavern (OCI). There really isn't anything new on the strip right now.

IMHO...The strip isnt that good anymore...I would head to gay st/mkt square area or go to the old city and checkout Barleys.

That was my reaction too. I checked with a friend that is still at UT and she said that it is in fact no longer there. Apparently shut down because of the lack of parking among other reasons? Someone can correct that part if it's wrong.

wow - had no idea about b-dubs. parking (none, really) was rancid but it seemed like a great locale. existed for at least 10 years.

Yeah its been down for awhile. I was hoping something might have went there in its place.

By far the worst BWW I have ever been to. I really wish they would put something else there. The strip really doesn't have much anymore. Downtown is much better.

They closed due to lack of parking. They have a store in Turkey Creek. The parking was the issue according to a neighboring business.

My favorites are Tin Roof, Half Barrel, Cool Beans, and Hannahs. There is a pizza place opening soon next to firehouse subs. that is the only thing new.

I partied on the strip for 5 years...it was never that good. Cool Beans and Tin Roof are cool. Goal Post is a nice upgrade from Chili's

Strip has really went downhill ever since the powers that be got mad we were named top party school in america. So they made the cops start harrasing people on the strip. It is just not fun to be over there anymore.

Back when I was at UT in the mid-late 80's the Last Lap was the best dive bar. I think if you look up Dive Bar in the dictionary there is a picture of The Last Lap. The Library was also a good place to go to see live bands.

In the last 5... your right, bout 10-15 years back it was the place to be though

The strip is where businesses go to die. If you're going there, half barrel and sunspot have the best beer selections.

Also Fort Sanders Yacht Club (the Barcade almost on the corner of Cumberland and 17th) has an okay bottle selection.
