I know Colquitt is gone, and Lincoln may have crapped the bed last season.

My question is: What do you think are acceptable abilities to kick in D1?

I haven't tested it in a while, but a few years ago I was consistent from 40 in and I could hit FG's as far out as about 47. Unfortunately I have never been able to break the 50 yd mark.

Concerning Kickoffs, I have issues. For some reason I can't seem to find my rhythm with the longer run and can only seem to get the ball 50-55 yards, putting it on about the 15.

Punting is starting to come around for me, and I average about 45-50.

Do you guys think it's even worth my time to try out, or am I living a pipe dream? I would imagine having been out of it for a few years, my numbers have gone down a little.

It's definitely a longshot at best, but no harm in trying.

You'll never know unless you try. You don't want to spend your life thinking about what could have been.

I think you need to focus more on what's needed to be a holder. I hear we place huge emphasis on that spot.

Give it a try. The coaches may see something you and other's haven't.

If you get in though, be sure to give VolNation due props.

Don't discourage him with unattainable goals. That position is only for the best and the brightest.

My dad is a Vol through and Through, he took me to my first game, and, although he isn't an alum, when he found out I got accepted, he made a donation to the University.

You have no chance with field goals, i doubt.......staywith your strong suit, punting......average close to 50 yards in practice, with good hang time!! you will be a walkon for sure!!

I think it's State Law that you have to change your last name to Colquitt if you do decide to punt.

Something I've noticed that helps is if you SCRREEEEAAAAMMMM all the way to the ball before kicking it. Sounds crazy, but it works.

Same concept of yelling when performing martial arts. When you do it, it gives you an extra 10-30 percent power in what your doing.

Yeah, I may go for it. I have 6 months to get my butt in shape again. As far as the process, I have no idea how it works.

I have to finish my AA here over the summer, which may cause schedule conflicts with the football program.

I just have to remember that academics come first (as I sit here on this forum knowing full well that I have to write a paper today).

I've heard that sometimes they watch the intramural sports and will pull players from there. That may be the way to go.

If anyone has any idea about the walk-on process, let me know.

I've always tried to pass gas at the moment of impact. I've found that the release of pressure generates a bit of freedom for the leg swing and the speed of my leg is directly proportional to the force of the flatus.

The screaming giving you an extra physical boost is true. It does help. If you scream when you throw a baseball, you throw it harder.
